That may be better. If I am gonna do it I wanna be prepared. Bald 35"duratracs and a 2.64:1 case will be replaced with a 4:1 and 35" KM2's or MT/Rs...

Don't worry about complaining...I will be smiling from ear to ear. I like the challenge

Id love to see the video too.

The Options are:

The weeks of
August 20-24
August 27-31
September 3-7

Copy and post this with an X next to your preferred week, the first 6 X's gets it.(Or Majority rules)

We also can shorten the trip or include a Sunday. For instance - Arrive Sunday, head out to the trail Monday - wheel Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday wheel out and back to the NorCal Outpost and head out any day you like after that!

I went last summer July 12th. I went in from the Tahoe side and turned back after getting stuck on Caddilac hill. Everyone was getting stuck and had to be winched up to the top. There was too much snow when I went, and did not have a winch yet. I took lots of pics of those last 3 lakes, and video of driving through 2.5 foot deep water crossings. I had a lot of fun, but wish I could have done more. The last 2/3 of the trail is the easy part (the part I did) but the hard and damaging looked to be about 1/4 the way in from Loon lake. Very nice scenry and would love to go again but will have to wait till next summer due to starting a new job soon. It would be nice to start planning now, so I can reserve a condo next summer at Heavenly South lake Tahoe.

For those of us that have to travel a long way, I checked on availability at my condo for after the 10th of August 2013 and there are a lot of vacancys for a 3 bedroom. PM me if you are interested in a room as my wife and I only need 1 of the bedrooms. It is the Worldmark location in South Shore Lake Tahoe.
This kind of arangement will only work for next year because it is all booked out for this year.

South shore is at least 3 hours from the Loon/Wentworth Trail Heads, the outpost is about 1 hr and 15 minutes. We have a bunch of space here and RV hook ups, a shop, tools welding equip. Well you get the idea. :)

A quiet week before labor day weekend sounds good to me.

I'd love to do the Rubicon, but I likely never will since it's in California. I refuse to go where I can't legally pack heat because the state's legislators are liberal anti-gun morons (I know, multiple redundancy alert). In fact, the whole left coast is off limits for me. I will stick to spending any tourism money I have in states like AZ, NV, UT, CO, MT, WY, ND, SD, NM, TX, OK, FL, etc, etc, etc, that don't feel the need to trample on my Second Amendment rights.

It is legal to carry in California in the National Forests (where the Rubicon is located).

Edit:

Quit being such a Sally and get out here! :)
