I've been planning for about two years to attend Dave Canterbury's Wilderness Self Reliance courses. The dates have finally lined up in my favor. I wanted to extend the invite to anyone else that wants to attend one, or more, of these courses.

A little background... Dave Canterbury runs The Pathfinder School LLC. This is a survival and primitive skills school based out of Jackson, Ohio. He has 20+ years of military and civilian survival training (don't know a lot of the details). He has hundreds of videos posted on YouTube and looks legit. He was one of the co-stars of the Dual Survivor series on T.V. He trains SAR and Wilderness EMTs as well. I'm going to give him a try.

He has a variety of courses: http://www.thepathfinderschoolllc.com/training.html

Basic Survival
Advanced Survival
Primitive Skills
Tracking and Trapping
Scout
Man Tracking

I'm already registered to be in the July basic, primitive and advanced skills classes (three weekends in a row). Anyone want to attend with me? :corn:

For those interested in his videos. He runs two YouTube Channels.

Looks like a blast and really interesting. I have my annual trout fishing trip in July. I wonder how far west he has classes? I think I am going to order the video/course materials for $70.00 to prep for the classes.

Do you have to attend them in order? I may just go for the advanced course if I can.

I don't think the basic course is required for the advanced one, but it wouldn't hurt. I'll be there to help, if you go to the one in late July.

I know that he does classes in West Virginia, Florida and sometime Michigan (I think). I have the phase 1 and phase 2, save your money. You'll get your best value by buying the virtual classroom. Lots of videos on there that aren't on YouTube. Plus, it's a life membership.

Well, the Basic Class is full, the Primitive Skills class is over half full and the Advance Class still has 16 seats still available.

Trekker, will you be able to attend?

Anyone else want to come out?

By the way, they just updated the course calendar through the rest of the year. There are new Basic and Advance classes scheduled. Here is the calendar link: http://stores.thepathfinderschoolllc.com/-strse-Pathfinder-Classes/Categories.bok

There's a bunch of pictures on Pathfinder's Facebook page from the Advanced course that finished on 7/2. I'm signing up tomorrow.

I finished the Basic Survival Course yesterday and highly recommend it to anyone interested. Long hours, but not too much. Will start the Primitive Skills course on Friday.

We hadn't eaten for three days at the time of that photo, so we're both looking a bit rough. We'll put up more pics and a summary shortly, just got home.
