They're not cheap unfortunately. You could always fabricate one using parts from a HMMWV. I've seen i t done before and it was much better looking than the ARB had I seen it before, I would have never got the ARB.

I seen and have a HMMWV cap but not up to cutting that much out of the T. Maybe I'll have to do some more work.

I have always liked the arb snorkel for the most part but the thing that scares me is if I smack my fender on a rock...does the intake get damaged? If I did the intake cover route I feel it would be much safer in terms of damage

You have cut into the body with the HMMWV / H1 snorkel. It's easier to replace a fender IMHO. There is pretty much no going back (aside from trying to weld something back in).

Here is a link to Amanda's snorkel

I have the cap and it's been on the maybe list the last 2 years but after seeing the hole Trailbraker had to make and the other two I don't think I can do it. I'll just get the ARB and then get the high speed cap everyone else has.

Yes you do but all the cutting is internal. If one day you want get rid of it, you just replace intake cover, and the rest is not visible. With ARB you have a hole in the fender, which then has to be replaced.

I think 4Wheel Parts has a discount for service members. I'm not sure if it's nationwide, but at least the Raleigh one does. Give them a call and you may get a good deal.

http://www.wickedcarparts.com/2008-2009-hummer-h3-arb-safari-snorkel/ When I ordered mine last spring this site had it listed at cost so I used another site that would beat the price by $1 so I ended up getting it for 276. I still think this is the cheapest you can find but I don't know anything them so I would probably just use them as a price match. Don't give too much info or they will use it to weasel out of things, example: don't say it's for an H3T because it's only listed for an H3. If the price is listed for an 08-09 just go with that, don't say it's for a '10

Be carefull where you buy from. I had an issue with my snorkel and the marc from ARB say there are a bunch of chinese knockoffs going around. I bought mine from amazon also. Luckily mine ended up being a actual ARB an was covered under warranty.

Thank you for the heads up but I went with a 40" RI LED and two 4" LED's.

I'm not a scientist or anything, but there is nothing special about the snorkel? Nothing internal I am missing?? Just hollow plastic.. So any snorkel head like this ImageUploadedByTapatalk1346711345.682117.jpg and some 3" PVC and rubber housing and I could do something like MustangGirls!! I'm all about customizing and making it my own!!!

If you have an Alpha all you need is a 2" hole for the home made snorkel kit.
