I don't know the exact boot dimensions off the top of my head, but yes, if your boots are cracked and leaking you should clean out the old contaminated grease and repack them with fresh CV grease before installing new boots
I knew that getting parts for the H2 is sometimes complicated but for the SUT it gets x2 times more. I didn't find that piece but ended up getting a piece of semi-universal plastic for the tailgate to cover it:
I just needed to cut the length a little and stick with the preapplied 3m tape...
Just picked up an H2 SUT and got a solid deal. The tailgate ledge plastic trim (top cap—no tonneau) is badly scratched. Does anyone know the correct name/GM part number for that piece?

Short answer: no, a constant low hum + vibration isn’t “just an Alpha thing.” If you feel/hear it sitting still, it’s likely engine/exhaust/AC/fan or a mount. Only when moving - more likely tires/wheels/driveline (bearings, u-joints/CVs, diff, transfer case), or something touching the body
