Is it too early to plan Black Sheep Week 2025? Of course not!

Dates: Sunday, April 20, 2025 to Friday, April 25, 2025
Typically the last day of wheeling is Friday, with the last people departing on Saturday.
Park trails and overview: https://caltopo.com/m/63T1, https://stateparks.utah.gov/parks/sand-hollow/, https://www.winter4x4jamboree.com/Trails-Home.cfm
More trail info: https://winter4x4jamboree.com/Trails-Home.cfm

The Outpost is the same next year as I already made my AirBnB reservation: https://www.google.com/maps/@37.1354142,-113.3722021,15.29z?hl=en

GMRS will be again the radio standard. We will start on Channel 17 and see how that works for us

Tentative Schedule

  • Sunday: East Rim Trail. 3 rating. Flag required.
  • Monday: Sliplock Gulch (6 rating). Flag required
  • Tuesday: Tocquerville Falls (2 rating) and Rattlesnake Gulch (6 rating). No flag required. Catered dinner at Outpost
  • Wednesday:
  • Thursday: Open. John's Trail option, rated 7. Flag required
  • Friday: Honyemoon Trail? 2/3 rated. Looks scenic
Days in the park requires a $20 fee and the use of a dune safety flag. For trail ratings in the park, we will be focusing on 4s and 5s for stock H3s. 6s start to get tough (straps may be needed), 7s get rough.

Area GPS files

Fees, please: Only to cover Tuesday dinner unless I think of something crazy.

Attendee List

Best guess and confirmed is below. I will start cleaning up as we get confirmations.

I can go next year no problem. my group may have 2 H1s , a Rivian and a Gladiator. 5-6 people total. We'll probably split an Air BNB but it's too early to tell yet.

Forgot you are from MI, I'm currently working at our Detroit refinery for a couple of months.

We are definitely coming. Either the ZR2 that is set up for camping or the JKU I am building on 39 or 40's. I need to see if I can do the Jeep Jamboree than go to Sand Hallow.

Finally updated the list . . . Starting to look like a real group!

At this time I'm not planning on t-shirts this year but let me know if that needs to change. We need to sell at least two dozen to make it worthwhile.

What if we pay up front? I can buy an extra if needed to make the count.

Don't need everyone to pay up front, just need semi-commitments before I commission the artwork. Need to know who's interested and about how many they might want if I don't **** up the design.

I edited the recommended trail rides a bit with some suggestions in italics. Put down your thoughts - what trails do you want to do, either in the Sand Hollow park or elsewhere.

If I have faith in the Jeep by then this is the new toy. Sitting on 38's, rock krawler lift, basically a diy Rubicon, chromoly shafts, 5.13's.

I like the ZR2 out there because of the camping, but this should be more capable.

Wait, where is it? All I see are new tires. (Inevitable Dad camo joke.) Looks like it has all kinds of toys on it, should be fun for you!

So, definitely will not be coming this year. Aside from still not getting a blasted thing done on the Alpha, including the rear license plate light bulb I got pulled over for (that was the excuse anyway), I am also doing a play that has performances right through then. 12 Angry Men. Should be fun.

Sorry you can't make it and hang out with real angry men. Break a leg. 😂
