Hey everyone,
New guy here from chas. WV and having a little trouble deciding on the most bang for my buck, I have recently purchased a base model h3 with the 285 's already on it (brand new all seasons) lol just installed about 2 weeks aggo by dealer. Yesterday my fav tire store Appalachain tire here in town sold me a set of 305 kumho road venture m/t's , and I loved the 35" ones I had on my last toy a 2000 excursion v-10 lots of mods just sold to play Hummer off road ! Well any tips about how to clear the kumho's for a decent price or advice on what kit to buy. I'm a welder with air tools and a fab shop to work in (am lacking tortion key tool) not sure if needed or not snap-on will sure let me get one monday if so lmao. Beinf tax time and payday prob gonna put nav head unit in also soon along with speakers and who knows from there , lots of dirt roads here :))

All you need is a 32 or 33mm socket (its an off size, try a few sockets to see which fits your truck). If you lift the front end in the air the t-bar bolts turn much easier. ;)

Definitely get it aligned after the crank. But check to see if you need to replace or get heavier duty Tie rods, upper control arms, bushings, etc, because any of those, and a few more, lower control arm...will require the alignment to be redone as well

Yea I cranked mine with stock keys and bars that had ware on them got about an inch and a half then did it again with new stuff and it doubled

So if you have over like 70k miles you could probably get more height with aftermarket keys and new shocks

I would recommend extending the range of the front shocks, either by running extensions or ordering longer shocks. You will shorten the amount of uptravel with the lift.

I have been running the Bilsteins with the extended range: :link:

A few of the members here did a hack by putting a couple nuts on the shock below the upper mount to extend the range.

I agree w/ all of the above. You will did extended bumpstops also. This will stop your frontend from nose divin. Also, do not crank your Tbars over 23 1/2", from bottom of fender to the H on the hub cover. This I think, is almost everyones first mod. You can use the search bar for more info also. Good luck

No keys, just crank it.

That's what I did at first because I heard it wasn't much different than buying keys but then was irritated that my front sagged and ordered them anyway then it lifted another inch or two, I ended up paying to get it aligned twice when I could've once if I didn't go the cheaper route

As everyone is saying, just crank it, no need for keys. I'll add, check with your local tire/alignment shops first. The local Big-O was cool about it and cranked mine to 23.5" at my request as part of an alignment. No work for me and no extra cost beyond the alignment I was paying for anyway.

Crank only, no keys, get an alignment. spend the money you would waste on torsion keys on some nice bilstein leveling shocks
