I am interested to know if anyone is running 305/70-16 tires and if so do you have any rubbing at full lock?

Thanks in advance.

I run a Nitto Terra 315/75/16 (12.32" width) which is .08" skinnier than the 305/70/16 (12.40" width) and I rub at full lock. So I would imagine your turning radius to be less if you went with a Nitto Terra 305/70/16 compared to the 315/75/16.

I found a tire size calculator on www.1010tires.com and plugged in the three tires for comparison. Looks like the 305 is slightly wider by approx. 3/4" than the 285. I'll need to get under my rig with the wheels at full lock and measure how much space I have. Assuming I have 1" or more I think the 305's will work. Thanks for everyone's input.

Each tire company and the models they carry differ from company to company. Find the tire make and model you like than look at the dimensions of each size tire. Then pull the trigger. Oh and to caveat on what Enter Hummer said, might want to look at adding wheel spacers.

yes, I got a slight, slight rub on the anti-roll bar at full lock. it's so light, you won't hear it and it's not doing damage... I had stock rims, then I bought the correct offset (wider) for a Rancho lift and strangely had the same issue with either wheel.

don't worry about it, you'll still turn inside a Jeep's radius.

I'm running Cooper Discoverer 305-70-16s on stock rims on an '06 H3. Been very pleased with them. Only a slight bit of rubbing at full turn in one direction. Smooth ride, very little road noise and excellent tread life. I have put 24K miles on them since Jan 02 and they show very little wear at all.
