H3 Brushguard Advise

Can anyone give me any advise on the best brushguard for a blacked out H3 adventure package? I am not looking to spend alot, I just mostly want it for looks but also to somewhat protect my grill.

If budget it your main concern, just keep your eyes on Craigslist/eBay for an OEM black grill guard. They can be had in the $100-200 range if you're diligent.

The old SMA BG come up for sale sometimes and can be had for a few hundred dollars. Predator makes them new but the cost is around $600.00 new. Great looking brushguard though.

Might check with Gunner45, he has been known to stockpile the odd part or accessory. Craig's List and eBay are next. Craig's List works best if you can go pick up the item and pay at the same time.

I have an Aries brushguard.. Not the cheapest one but not the most expensive either. And mine has lived up to par from pushing a car (don't ask) to random encounters with deer! It's still in great shape

The one i have is the real wheels double tier with inserts. It does a good job of protecting the grill, but i wouldnt hit deer with it. Its a lot more expensive now though

Back in ought 6 there was slim pickens but that Steelcraft from Teakatoys with a winch mount was the way I went to get it all at once and go wheeling instead of shopping and building. It's now on my 08 and has been good. It has two braces that go back to the frame surround for the radiator mount that steady's it up. I have winched several (other people) ha ha No problems. It was cheaper then of course but so was gas, in fact I remember 24.9 gas!!!!:shifty:

If you know a good fabricator sometimes they can make you a custom one for a good price

Found mine with a Google search. Came in 3 pieces - bolts together. Under $200 including shipping if I remember right. The powdercoat is very nice and has worn well for a couple of years now. They had another version with another bar over the center that I thought was pretty neat. I prefer the larger diameter bars around the headlights over the OEM version.

Flash - that looks like the Steelcraft to me. exactly. the only difference with mine is that it came with an integrated winchplate.

The Steelcraft is a one piece and has a $150 shipping cost. Mine was 3 pieces and the shipping was included. Not as strong but looks very similar. I have the old SMA because I could spell it. Availabilit is hit and miss and there are others as good and still in business.
