3rd ANNUAL NACHES AREA TRAIL DAY ON SATURDAY 8/24 - CANCELLED DUE TO FIRES!
Yep, you heard it folks -- there's fires in them thar hills!!! :sigh: We'll have to plan this for another day. I also posted up on the trip thread, but the cancellation notice is at the end so I started this one in case folks didn't see the other notice.

I'm sure that Scarsman and H3slate will give us an update when they return from their scouting/camping trip. Please make it home safely guys!

Hey there, Dave! LOL... why, I'm there in Moab right now! ... at least mentally anyways. Can't wait to get back there!! Once I get that dream job, you won't be able to keep me away. If I can make it next April, I'll be there for sure! :thumbs:

****, that sucks guys. If anybody feels like a drive I'll be camping/ poking my nose around Nikolai Mtn. This weekend.From what I understand, the trails are for ATV's but the area is crisscrossed with logging roads, etc. my sister in law is dating a local guy who's grown up in the area, so we're camping with them and lookin to do some exploring and some shooting. Absolutely no idea what to expect this weekend. Keeps things interesting

agreed, but Brown's camp is quite a haul away for me (and I'm more likely to bring my CR500 than my H3 )

That's all right, it is for me as well, I prefer poking my nose around out north of the gorge and up into Gifford Pinchot for the most part, seeing what there is to see.

I used to work in the Gorge, and I'd shortcut from Carson to Trout Lake on those roads
