What are symptoms of a failed cv joint?
I lost d n 3 in tranny but still can manually shift to 3.
I’ve got some clicking sound and was wondering. If it’s cv joint

I'd high recommend to take the wheels, brake parts, hub off and pull the front cv shafts. I'd also pull my front drive prop shaft. JM2Cents!

Or do you mean the CV joint in the front propshaft? When mine failed it sounded like marbles in a coffee can. The axles usually sound like clicking, like you said. But I doubt that CVs have anything to do with your shifting issues.

What are your error codes?
My 2007 H3 had a P0787 and felt like only 2&3 gear would activate. I replaced the 3-2 solenoid as well as 1-2 & 3-4 (Battery disconnected)
That fixed the transmission issue

For a brocken CV , Uni or prop-shaft , there's no error code, only the issues you can here (clinking parts) , feel (some bad vibrations in axels or shift level) and see .....if you take parts appart.
If you have only transmission issues , I would highly recommande to open it before you have real bad damage !

Tranny lost 3&4, and yes I pulled it to friends house ,I had the tc,and tranny in neutral and there was a heavy heavy vibration. The clicking is not rhythmic it’s random and not umm the synchronized sound

How is your electrical system?

My rig wouldn't shift out of 2nd. Turned out to be bad electrical battery terminals; i.e. computer screwed up from lack of juice.
