people post up their problems, that just means you get to read about a lot of issues. that happens on the honda forums too. my h3 has 115K miles and it's doing pretty well. I haven't had any major problems with it. if you're taking care of yours I don't see why you'd have a bunch of disasters. the LS engines and GM trannies are widely used and very reliable. Hey, it's not a land rover :)

Nobody posts that they have 160k trouble free miles
Exactly. We post to share fixes and upgrades but most of all to identify and repair problems. Many owners here have had pretty few problems but it's a rare post that says "Hey, no problems for X months" and it gets any attention. The posts that get attention are "Hey, I sunk my battleship and I've got water in the headliner". Others, like me, have had a lot but that's likely been hastened by an off road trip or two.

But, for a bit of affirmation that things are good, take a look at the "What did you do to your H3 today" thread and look at all of the views and posts.

jeez 13 mpg, I was getting 6-7 mpg and I babyed it as best as could

7 mpg is highway, best i ever got was 9mpg in city when i "baby-ed" it. LOL

Ive had my 2003 H2 since early 2002 and the basic problems I had in the beginning were warrantied so I didnt think twice about it. But in last 6-7 years I would have to say the MAIN problem has been due to RUST! Rust has caused all my major repairs. Rust recently caused an exhaust leak (havent fixed that yet, which is now a full on manifold issue) as well as a fuel line leak (ya, that I had to have repaired asap so that I didnt blow up).
If I had known that rust would be an issue, I wouldve had it treated from day one but I had no clue and now its too late. The rust is my enemy and is the reason I will be selling my beloved H2 next month --- after I fix the rusted out back fender and fix the new water leaking into passenger side. Oh joy...
IF only I knew a Hummer expert in metro detroit to do the work on the side for me -- the dealership is not my friend.

2008 H2. 147,256 miles of boring trouble free driving. My list of problems:

Airfilter got dirty, 34,000 miles,
Tires wore out 74,000 miles,
fixed leaks in roof with RTV $5
more tires, 143,000 miles (can't they make them last more than 70,000mi?
changed all fluids 135,000 mi
Replaced NAV disk due to age and inaccuracy
Yawn.......this thing is a beast, I wish they would make them again.

I also changed oil, some light bulbs, air freshners, and one bolt on the tire carrier.

You never hear about the trouble free, only the problems.

My leak is attributed to the sunroof seal, which I have ordered a replacement for $100, but still waiting on the dealer to track the part down though. So I fixed the leak temporarily with some tape around the sunroof seal and the cab of the truck, so far so good.
