Door lock switch

I’ve tried searching but didn’t come up with anything. I just replaced my door lock switch in a 01 the old switch had a door with a key. The new switch shows a lock unlock illuminated. Now the new switch always stays illuminated even with doors shut and lights off. Is this normal or should the light turn off.

Just found the answer. They stay on.

Yeah the lights stay on full-time, the power draw for the led diode isn't significant unless you drive your truck like once a year or something. I keep mine on a trickle charger
