Drivers seat repair?

As with most vehicles of this age, my '05's driver seat has developed a sag to one side. It looks like the foam itself is more or less ok, but the "cheese slicer" seat springs (really just a bunch of thin wires) are cutting into the foam. Has anyone ever tried to work a sheet of plastic or other material in there to prevent this? I don't have the cash to have the seat rebuilt properly right now, and I don't want to have the local upholstery guy just shove a wedge of random foam in there to "fix" it, because it's not going to be correctly shaped and won't solve the root problem anyway. At least with some kind of barrier to prevent the wires from slicing into the foam, it will retain the proper shape until I can afford a proper rebuild.

I would ask the upholstery place what king of material they would use, and ask them what it feels like and looks like, ask for a quote on how much it would cost for them to do it (your just doing this so you find out what's the best cushioning material you could use and find it on your own) and then go to Home Depot/Lowes and pick up a small piece of that thick but pliable rubber floor molding that is used in commercial/business applications to seal the floor tile and base board. Then cut a piece in the shap of where the springs seem to be popping out, remove the hog rings on the upholstery where your doing the repair and slip it under along with a piece of the material that's fills/softens the seat, and put the hog rings back and squeeze them tight. That should hold you over until you can get it properly done
