Lots of engineering went into the stock truck. Of course they do some things for reliability, target market design specs, etc but they generally get it pretty close to right. Seems that the more people modify the H1s the more reliability issues they have. I have wheeled stock H1s for 7-8 years now and had very few issues given what I have put the trucks through. I would make very few changes to the H1. 2" body lift being the most significant. You can add the Eaton lockers to the older trucks but I haven't needed them. Once you learn to BTM that will handle the locker issue.

But mileage wise, even on the TD it seems, 56 is the best. But I have barely ever gone that slow. 60-65 is the prime, and sometimes 75. Never had any problems at 75-80 for me. Engine oddly stays cool, but mileage suffers greatly!

Well we picked it up last night, was the longest ride back from NH ever. I was in my h3 following him at 60mph. That was killing me. We went wheeling today and I have to say the h1 is unbelievable.
