Friendly reminder - signatures and pictures

If your signature contains graphics, please take a moment to look at your signature to view the size of the pictures and the readability on the forum. Some of the newer signatures have pictures that take up 1/2 to all of a standard computer screen which makes for tough readability on the forum.

While we do not have firm requirements on signatures, here are some recommendations:
1) Host your pictures on a site like Photobucket and link to those pictures
2) Pics should be less than 800x300 pixels (approximately). Essentially, they should not take up more than 1/3 of a the height on a 19" standard computer screen, or 3/4 of the width, or create additional height through "wrapping" to another line.

As long as we're on the subject, please remember to keep external links in your signatures limited to hobby site, personal sites, etc. and not to commercial sites unless you've received approval in writing from H4O. I don't think this is an issue right now but I wanted to bring it up just in case.

I might also add that it helps to have your model, year and engine in your signature line. It makes it easier for people to offer advice if they know what you have.

Occasionaly, I get on a slow connection and turn off the signatures to make loading faster. You can find this setting in your profile settings: :link:

Anywhere where that shows you a step by step on the way to make one? 4 years and I still can't make one the right way. :gaah:
