H3 Dial Lights not illuminating

Hello everyone, i'm new around here so please if i have posted this incorrectly let me know! i bought a used H3(2008) last year and i have noticed that none of my dial lights work, this includes the AC control, the rear wiper, and the headlight control. i went ahead and replaced all the bulbs in the different dials, but still no illumination. i went ahead and tested the bulbs that i thought were burned out with 12v leads to each side and they all work, so this leads me to believe its another problem. i tried to use the small dial for the map lights to turn them on, and all the clicks on the headlight control dial. but still nothing, any help or ideas on this issue would be greatly appreciated.

I replaced mine a long time ago and i think i had to take the bulb back out and turn 180 degrees and put it back in. try it both ways Some led are positive / negative specific. give it a try. let me know if it works. Im picking up another h3x Mall crawler Creem puff low miles tomorrow.

thanks for the response! i just tried that out but still nothing, i went ahead and tested the bulbs individually and they seem to not be polarity sensitive, i connected leads to either side and they still turn on, these are halogen mini bulbs though, you might be right about the leds

Do the bulbs have a little metal tab on each side that contacts in the light socket. Maybe there not making contacting maybe see if you can bend the contacts on the bulb down so they make contact with the socket. or do the same in the socket if not.

Hi diabolo_boy03

Did you check the fusebox? Try to replace Fuse #13 with a known good one, it is for the lights on the "2006-2008: Radio, Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning Display". Another quick check is to roll the indicator dimmer wheel/dial (by the headlight control knob) is set somewhere in the middle. If those don't work I'd use a multimeter to check to see if you are getting power to the harness connection to the center console panel, I think it is a grey wire. Search for H3 wiring diagrams, you should find a complete set of manuals out there. In there look for Instrument Illumination Circuit and it will tell you the color of the wire you are looking for. After that I'd do the base H3 electrical troubleshoot which is to disconnect the battery and let it sit for 30 minutes then reconnect.

Good luck and welcome to the world of the H3
