H3 doors

Hey so I have been working on my h3 the other day and thought "hmmm how could I make the doors come off and put it back on like the jeeps, so on the good days I drive around without doors and not have to spend a cpl hours doing this. Anyone done this yet?

I've done it, you unbolt a few bolts you unclip an electrical connector and you take the door off

Not very hard 3 10mm bolts I believe and the electrical switch. I would reccomend 2 people to remove the doors as they are quite heavy. It's fun to drive without doors, just wish I could come up with a way to get some mirrors because lane changes get a little sketchy when you can't see behind you

A local guy makes Jeep tube doors, I may see if he would bend me a set. $300/PR sounds like a nice price to play around with.

Make a mount bracket on the Plastic pillars and get bolt on mirrior

So I was thinking why can't someone ( Chris , because he is a great fab guy) fab up a bracket with flat plate to bolt in to the hinge holes and a arm ( lower pivot point on it ) on it to mount a mirror . For the mirror I would use a large blind spot type mirror with a center mounting bolt in the rear . I think this type of set up would work fine on the street and even better off-road because you would have a much wider field of view to the sides and rear. We use to run the large blind spot mirrors on our Class 1 car for Baja and they work great , you can behind , the whole rear tire and ground , way out to the sides and for SUVs the rear top of roof line .
