I'm switching over to a more permanent cb setup and am looking for the best way to run the coax cable to the roof rack. Currently looking at going through the firewall and under the a pillar trim, or running under the carpet and out the back door. Which would be easier? The radio will be mounted on the dash.

Thanks in advance.

I believe the antenna cable must be specific lengths, like 18', and I suspect you might have a hard time running through the back door and have enough to reach the roof. I would recommend up that A pillar.

I would also pick the easiest solution as it is quite realistic that you will have to replace it in the future due to a cut, crimp, etc and you don't want that to be an impossible task

Thanks Alex, I noticed you are running a roof mounted antenna. Where do you have the coax running?

I cheated and simply have it across the door jamb, then up the A pillar, then under the roof rail trim.

With the coax on the outside of the foam on the door jamb the bend is minor and the cable doesn't get crimped. It them runs between the windshield and dash for my dash-mounted CB
