Hand tools for the Hummer

Just saw this tool set on sale at Home Depot for $99; it's a great deal. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Husky-Mechanics-Tool-Set-270-Piece-H270MTSRM/320379671. I bought one of these last year to keep in my Silverado but it could be a good set (though maybe a bit big) for the Hummers on the trail. I don't really need the SAE sockets but it's hard to get complete metric-only toolsets.

Lately, I've been infatuated with Wera tools but haven't been able to justify the cost. They have some great looking ratchets and combination wrenches. https://www-de.wera.de/en/. Maybe I need to break a few of the tools in my H3 to I can create a need for these, but those Craftsmen tools of mine have been doing well since 2007.

I keep thinking of moving away from a hard case to tool wraps and bags. That would make it easier to dump the SAE tools, but the cases are nice organizers.

What are y'all doing?

I've made the move from hard cases to a bag o' tools. So much more space efficient.

I’m still stuck in the Stone Age with a 301 pc hard case from Harbor freight. Trail tools get loaned out, lost, borrowed forever, etc. so that’s why I went HF. Admittedly I can’t think of many occasions of breaking them either.

I then have an ammo can of specialty tools. Dana 44 hub socket, Dana 60 hub socket, picks, snap ring pliers, odd ball sockets for pinion nuts, etc.

My buddy transitioned to tool rolls and soft case stuff and is happy

I have a hard case and a bag with specialty tools similar to Chris but eventually going to tool rolls. A lot less bulk.
I’m kinda in love with some of these now too (https://www-de.wera.de/en/), thanks Alrock. I’m going to be replacing some tools at work with some of these too.

I’m one to carry too much bs on the trail, working on condensing down essentials as well.

Soft rolls for wrenches and such is a great way to go. I’m happy with it.
