Hit and run

So today while I was at work some guys in a silverado pulling a trailer hit my car in the parking lot breaking my driver side mirror and took off.
I didn't realize it had happened until it was too late..
Point being is I have a broken driver side mirror and need to find a replacement and all I have found is single mirrors for $200 and up. So I wanted to know if anyone had any suggestions on if I should just shell out the $200 and get the oems or if I should look at aftermarket mirrors?

How about just make a claim with your insurance...since it wasn't your fault they should fix it...At least my car insurance (geico) did when this happen to my step-dad's car, and I didn't even had to pay the deductible or anything....idk what insurance company you have but it would be good to look into that before you go spending your own money, after all a claim consultation is free, and that way you can weight the option out if is not good or go ahead and them fix it.

I'm betting that without the information of the driver that hit him, he would have to use his own comprehensive policy to make the claim (if its not paid off and just using liability only). His deductible would have to be less than the amount of the damage to make sense making a claim. $200 might be better off paid out of pocket to avoid rate hikes.

I would search the online junkyards and guys on eBay parting out H3's.

So a hit and run is considered a no fault claim so it won't increase your rates... There would be no deductible, the insurance companies all share the hit and run, non-insured claims in a pool they are all forced to be in to offer auto insurance.... Is it worth putting in a claim? It's up to you, you sure can but is it worth the hassle?
