Ho can I identify the trim level of a H3?

Yes and yes... base models usually had cloth seats, non chrome wheels and 265 size tires. Luxury models usually had leather and upgraded stereo. Alpha models all came with the 5.3l v8 engine. Adventure models... Well it's a package that could be added to any model I believe... Included locking differential(s), a 4:1 t case... And 285 75 16 tires from the factory. Tire size should be in the drivers side door jam and there should be an extra button or two on the 4x4 control panel for the adv pkg equipped H3s... Hope that helps.

^^ Yep, that's spot on. Only thing I'd add is that there is also the Championship edition which housed the same V8 as the Alpha and also featured fender flares, a "racing stripe" on the hood and would come with the front and rear lockers stock (without having to add the adventure pack.)

Thanks for the reply. I think I have the base model. I remember someone mentioning something about a towing package when I bought it, but that must be separate from the trim level.

Just saying, the statement in red is not correct. I know positively it is not correct for the 2008 model year. And I believe in all years, a luxury edition could get an offroad package. Adventure was an actual model designation, offroad was a package addition.

Sticker from my gone 2008 Luxury edition with an offroad package....

F5 is absolutely right. I have the same combo. Nice to see you back, f5. I thought you had left for good last I knew.

Regardless of the name OR the motor...Offroad Pak and Adventure Pak are the same thing (4:1 t-case, larger tires, & locker....front & rear on 09-10). If the addition of the Lux Pak takes precedence, and forces the name change...then so be it. But it doesn't change the equipment you get. More observations:

I have seen leather equipped H3's with manual seats. Weird.
I have seen leather equipped H3's with power seats but, without heat. Also weird.
Chrome appearance package is a separate option, as I have seen it installed on all models...Lux Pak, Adv. Pak, and Base.
Home link is totally separate as well, and I have seen it installed on all models.
I have seen Base models with a factory tow-hitch.
But, I've never seen an Adv. Pak without a tow-hitch...(must be included as part of the Adv. Pak).

The H3X:
This model seems to be comparatively consistent. The X might be an all-encompassing Luxury package that comes with everything fluffy & shiny. I say this because all X's seem to be similarly equipped:
I have never seen an H3X with the Adv. Pak (or Offroad Pak as it might be labeled).
I have never seen an H3X with a stick-shift.
I have never seen an H3X with a V8. Anybody got one?
I have never seen an H3X without chrome....but I have seen them without the goofy rigid spare tire cover.
I have never seen an H3X without a moon roof or Nav unit.
If anybody has a "uniquely-equipped" X-model...post it up!

Champ Edition:
Sadly its just a silver-painted Alpha Adv. Pak (or Offroad Pak) with red calipers & a hood sticker. Get an Alpha AP and a can of Krylon and make your own....much cheaper. I was told by a dealer it also came with UCP & rock rails, although I have seen several CE's without these items, (including brand new ones on the lot). Its also supposed to have "performance-valved shocks" but, given GM's track-record on shocks, they would probably be the first things to be swapped-out anyway. The CE is certainly the cream of the H3 crop, regardless of the superficial badging. It has all the goodies we off-roaders want. But I would've rather seen a 6.0L or something truly special to make it more worthy of the "champ" moniker. It would have made a better Swan Song for the Hummer brand. Instead the CE was the last (and very half-hearted) attempt at making something special out of an ordinary, off-the-shelf Alpha.

sigh...:shame:

Let's not forget the "Black Ops Edition" . A dealer tried telling a bud it was military grade. It's a base with black rims and some stickers.

But the flares!! The flares!

Mine came with the UCP, but had some stupid chrome step rails instead of rock rails. Very well could have been swapped out by dealer per original owner.
And a 6.0 or 6.2 would have been awesome!

the closest thing to an OEM video screen was if it had the optional back-up camera (displayed in the rear view mirror).
yours was certainly added aftermarket.

and our 2009 is a little bit of an oddball: Base model w/ 5speed, tow package, tan two-tone cloth interior w/ non-heated power driver's side, and Monsoon stereo but no navigation. RPO codes show all are factory... plus i added OE aux fog lights in the lower grille.

Thanks. I have the back up camera ,heated leather seats, and chrome EVERYTHING! I think that is the charm of the vehicle.

If you took your vehicle and some proof of ownership to the dealer, the service dept can print you out what it has exactly. There's probably an online method to do the same thing. Somehow I got a print out of my vehicle's standard & optional features.

Maybe they wanted steps, or didn't like the look, or someone else wanted them and they sold them.
