Well, we came out unscathed.

It was so cool leading Connor and Jacob through such an iconic trail. Both rigs were prepped well and had no mechanical issues on the trip.

Soup Bowl

Took me too many tries but I got it.

Connor giving soup bowl a try. Almost had it but needed some more tire or more woopow! He played it smart. You do not want to break in the middle of the trail

Going down the slabs with a broken jeep in the background, broken leaf spring center pin, destroyed driveshaft, tie rod and drag link. Probably had to go to town to get parts.

Vay, Connor and Jacob....I used your pictures, you have like 400 each so I just grabbed random ones. Feel free to add more but more importantly share your experience if others are thinking about running the rubicon.

I am glad I got to show you one of my (and almost everyone's) favorite trail. It has the right amount of difficulty, beauty, camping, etc. it truly is an all in one package trail and it's my wife's favorite trail if that is saying something.

I definitely underestimated the relelentless nature of the trial. 10/10 will do it again though.

I think social media makes the trail sound easier than it is. It is a very line dependent trail so you can choose your difficulty to a degree.

The rubicon trail facebook page can be deceiving. A post was made how guys brought 2WD VW buggies through. I still do not know how the hell they did it. They said they winched a lot, they probably stacked a lot of rocks too but Connor and Jacob can agree it wasn't as easy as they thought it would be.

It will wear on you. I have done rubicon trips where we have done more camping, drinking and swimming at the various lakes and other trips where we wheeled our asses off, either way, the rubicon requires you to stay on top of your game. You can usually see your driving skill get worse as the hours pass by.

It was an awesome time man!
Dude, it's almost like you weren't there! Wait a minute, fake pic, right? Undecided as to whether I pull this down as BS or wait until you address it satisfactorily. Doesn't appear that this pic sits well with the guys that actually RAN the trail and earned their way into the pic.

I thought the trail would have been resembled trails in Arizona where you would get a break in between obstacles. But no, this was an unrelenting, unforgiving tough trail. There was a point where the 1st camp spot was in view but I kept getting hung up on stupid stuff. My biggest hangups were having 35’s and an open front diff. The deavers in the rear didn’t help because the leaf pack hangs much lower. We had to trim u bolts on the gate keeper, first obstacle.

Driver attention and alertness fades fast towards the end of the day. I’m happy that I didn’t go through a cv axle or any tie rods. Although I did make a conscious effort to kept it slow and steady. And only gave it the beans when necessary. Most throttle I had to use was on Cadillac hill.

Leave the picture. I just fixed it to resemble the truth an overheating Acer.

@EndeavoredH3 kicked ass on the rubicon. He was the outgunned rig of the group with the smallest tire and only 1 locker. His driving is the reason we weren’t changing tie rods, CVs, or steering racks. He used the throttle at the perfect time, and didn’t use it when he shouldn’t have. A stock IFS H3 can still do the rubicon. Bebe and crew proved that wayyyy back in the day but Jacob reiterated it’s still doable in 2024 with the right driver.

I am not forgetting about Connor, he did great as well. He and I just had a few extra tools in the tool bag for this trail.

Super bummed I couldn’t drive my own rig up there. Those last minute electrical gremlins are the worst. As of now the rig still won’t crank. Wonder if I put in a bad starter. Nonetheless, drove the suburban out to the trail to meet up with the boys and ride shotgun in each of their rigs. Even with how dusty the trail can be Connor’s interior was insanely clean lol

Happy to have helped take pics and video for the guys. That was fun. I appreciate Jeff (TsarTrail) for doing that last time. Running up and down trails in high elevation is no joke. Hoping to put together a half decent video of our adventure. Bears and all

One of the things I still have on my list to do. As they say," Never let your memories be bigger than your dreams."
Anytime you want to run it, let me know. It’s in CA….I know.

I fuel up outside of the state and to avoid giving those commies a penny of on tax fuel. This was the first trip in years I had to top off in CA.

On the rubicon your away from the BS though
