I wanted to dedicate a thread to the roof rack that Scarsman built for me.

The expedition rack is a full length roof rack with multiple cargo tie down anchors, sunroof opening, retractable mount for a hi-lift jack, two mounted ammo boxes for additional storage, H3 logos in the mounting brackets, and room for 4 6x9 KC offroad lights.

Room for 4 KC 6x9 lights

Two water-tight ammo boxes(I can fit a tow strap, tree saver, and shackles in one box. Other box has spare parts; inner and outer tie rod, serpentine belt, tire plug kit, and additional shackles)

On the passenger side there is a low profile jack mount on the interior of the rack.

The mount in the cargo area retracts below the floor of the cargo deck when not in use.

What I love about my rack is the details put in by Scarsman. The logos in the brackets, the mounting system he came up with for the jack, all the tie down anchors, and the quality of the finished product. He custom made it for me, made the KC lights fit, the ammo boxes, and kept the height down so I can still park in my garage.

I can't get enough pictures of that rack and your 3.

Whats the overall Height of your 3 now with it?

I still fit in my 7' garage. The cargo boxes fit with less than an inch to spare. What is great is that I gave Scarsman the dimensions that i needed to work with and he made it fit. Once I saw his KC 6x9 lights, I had to have them. He came up with the lower mounting bar to fit the lights and not raise the overall height of the rack.

Thanks Erik! Your truck really does look awesome! We just need to build you a brush guard now!

I'm in the middle of building another Knight Metal Works rack right now for another forum member. It will have shorter sides and be called the Adventure Rack. It's going to have the ammo boxes and jack mount as well.

I'm not a rack person, but that one is so well thought out and made. Great ideas.

Thanks for all the comments guys. I have to admit, it is pretty cool to make something and have it so well received. Especially when it is something I enjoy doing so much.

Here are the dimensions of the roof rack.

length 98"
width 47"
height in front 7.5" , in rear 6"

Cargo box
width 45"
length 62.5"

Height from roof in front 11"
height from roof in rear 9"

My overall height is just under 6' 11".

Been running without the ammo boxes recently. Helps me better enjoy the surprisingly nice weather we are having right now.
