thinking ok hear me out the rear leaf springs are under axel so blocks dont work like reg lift kits but can we put the leaf springs on top of the axel that would give the rear at least 3inches of lift .
would that be possible ?

A may be time to get specialty built rear leaf springs with the proper length, width and height your seeking. Much easier. Not cheaper lol! But you'll be better served in the long wrong.

Im certain if you look at some of the other offerings out there you can find a rear leaf pack that could would fit your needs.

Yes, a spring over is possible and gives you a bunch of lift - too much unless you lift the front end as well with a lift kit. Cranking the torsion bars or adding torsion bar keys won't suffice.

If the rear end is sagging consider finding a quality spring shop and getting them rearched. I did that a few years ago and they are holding up well.

not sagging just trying to lift 2 inches with out using shackles don't like them but seam the only way .
i built a 73 K5 square body back in the 80s so much easier. maybe i can get them re-arched up 2 inches hum i think they will be short and wont fit back on

Another method would be to take your truck to a leaf spring shop (there's usually one in a decent-sized metro place) ...and have your rig's springs re-arced. Usually doesn't cost very much. Tell them you want a 2" lift and they can do it. These guys are used to dealing with big truck springs day in and day out, so something like a H3 spring pack is like a toy to them. They could have them removed/re-arc'd and back in in no time. There's a machine that does the re-arcing. Then you won't go with a harsh ride either ..like adding a leaf. Adding a leaf is kind of a short-cut idea compared to doing it 'right'.

I had a set of brand new springs re-arc'd (different vehicle) years ago. They arrived and didn't have the 'stance' I was looking for. The re-arcing was a quick process and solved the problem. I couldda had the original ones re-arc'd if I'd known about it. The whole process was smooth as butter in my case.

Now you have another option to chew on.... LOL

Good luck

You could look at a set of Old Man Emu rear springs, they provide appx. 3/4" of lift. Top quality stuff. Direct replacement.

Any more than that is going to look out of place IMHO.

If you just have to have more lift????? you could add a set of Warrior Shackles for another appx. 1/4" Otherwise it is custom fab work for more $$ and headache.

That's what I did. I requested a 1.5" lift with my rear spring re-arch. I am still using my original leafs after 194,000 miles with that one re-arch done on them.

I changed my shackles years ago for the Warriors 1.5" and never had problems. Top quality and the lift ist enough for me. With the 315/75R16, it looks much better.

Torsion keys are not necessary to lift the front end of the H3. All you need to do is turn the torsion bars via the bolt at the aft end of the torsion bar and set it to whatever height you want. Please be careful as putting too much height in the front end can destroy CV axles and steering racks.

Late to this thread, but I thought I'd show what I got when I refreshed my suspension. Decided to get OME leafs, the Schwarttzy high clearance u-bolt plate and his shackles (pictured). It was way too high in the rear. The rear view mirror became useless.
I ended up taking out the shackles, but even then it is stanced high in the back, lol.

23.5" torsion crank at the front. I might pop it up to 24.5" just to level it out a little at the expense of the CVs.

Just set mine at 25 " going to let it settle down remeasure and readjust Down . Getting very frustrated with the Hummer. There is not much you can do to lift unless you customize fab your own suspension . May go back get a 73 k5 blazer and build frame up much more fun

23.5 " is the best for the CVs. H3's are on IFS, so if you want more, you have to look for rare 4" lift lits from Rancho or go for SAS front and SPOA rear.
