so this PISSES me off really BAD!

For Thanksgiving my dad was out of town from Tuesday till today for Thanksgiving. He finds out his 1994 H1 is stolen, goes to report it and they tell him it is in the impound lot.
so from what he told me the cops were chasing the perp in the Pismo Dunes. and the stream crossing near the entrance was 4-5 feet deep and he tried to cross it doing 60-70MPH :gaah:I guess it launched the truck and at that speed the right rear wheel hit so hard it ripped the fuel filler neck out. something from the crash disabled the truck and the Police chase ended.

so tomorrow he is going to go to the impound lot, I'll post more when I find out more.

this is all I know, and I kinda had to vent. because this BLOWS!

wow! Glad he got it back -- I know he put a ton of work into that truck and it is nice. Hope he can get it to Mike Sabarese to check it out asap so he is well armed with info and prices for the insurance co.

UPDATE,
here is my Dad's post on the HML

We just got back from a 5 day Thanksgiving trip, I picked up my dogs from the kennel this morning in the H1 and parked it in front of the house at 1030am. I guess at about 1215 some tweeker drove off with it and wrecked it out in the Pismo Dunes because by 3pm I walked outside to run to the office real quick and it wasn't there!

By the time I noticed it and called it in the Police had already been chasing some lunatic driving 70 mph through the dunes and jumping it, finally jumping it off a 4-5 foot ledge in the creek, ripping the fuel filler tube off and puncturing the right rear tire. They also say there is a "Fresh" racing stripe (damage) down the right side also! The thing that sucks is I baby my trucks!

I guess the guy got out and ran through the dunes and into a residential neighborhood and they lost him. Stupid thing is ... he left his Medical Marijuana card in the truck! Never seen one before today, they have a copy of his drivers license right on it! Dumb nut!

The nice thing is he left his bicycle next to my palm tree when he stole my truck! Guess he thought it was a trade! Have to have some humor in all this!

Well ... nothing I can do now! Except post pictures tomorrow when I go look at it!

My thought was to have the insurance tow it down to Mike's Place in Tustin and have him go through it ... because there has got to be a lot of messed up things with the truck that to the untrained eye no one will know except Mike!!!

thanks everybody for the support.

I see it on the HML. hope you guys will get it covered!

:tjack: (Does your dad raise Hyacinth Macaws?)

and my dad raised birds as a kid to earn money and always loved Hyacinths. In the future he would love to raise Hyacinths but at the moment with the economy he has to spend his time working, and fun time is WAS tinkering with the Hummer and driving it.

Cool. Hyacinths are really cool birds! But they are also very expensive! Id really like to get my hands on a Hyacinth and a Black Palm Cockatoo:thumbs:

Guess that is one strike against medical marijuana. Too bad about your dad's truck but Mike will get it fixed up for him.

I have never met mike but two nights ago I ran into a guy wheeling his 06 H1 alpha and as we were talking Tustin hummer came up. He said the only one he trusts touching his H1 is Mike. Everyone I talk to seems to have the highest regards about Mike and I am sure he will get it up and running in no time...It just sucks people would do that to someones property.

So I spent virtually the whole day on this stinking tweeker event! The Insurance Co just needs an adjuster to make a quick look at the truck to make sure it isn't going to be a total loss. As long as that is not the case then off to see Mike in Tustin it goes!

I have to say the HML is great! "Awolhmv" Damon is so cool! He met me at the impound yard and did a thorough look over of the truck! Then drove me out to the dunes to see where the final damage occurred ... but everything had washed away with the high tide we had last night. Then on top of everything else he has already collected parts for me! What an Amazing guy! And he is still recuperating! Thank you for everything Damon!

They still haven't caught the guy, but they know who he is and has a warrant out for his arrest. He left a ton of his belongings in the truck! 2 suitcases, 3 backpacks, clothes, rocks, vodka, mail, you name it ... it was there! He just moved right in!

suspension all caked in sand, hard to tell for damage

491a_408.jpg

side swiped something with the truck. those doors are rare since the upper half are removable. half doors

465a_500.jpg

ripped the fuel filler neck right out.

465a_500.jpg

tire shredded all up, fuel filler neck ripped out

476a_210.jpg

another view of tire shredded all up, sand caked all over the truck.

I must say these trucks are tough! doesnt look like much damage.
and some before shots.

Thanks guys! since the perp hasn't been caught yet. it's going thru my dad's full coverage insurance for now. waiting on an adjuster to come look at it. the adjuster needs to look at the truck to determine if it's totalled or not. if it's not totalled it's going to Mike S @ Tustin Hummer. pretty sure Flatbedded over there.
