Odd shifting

Had this weird thing happen recently where in the 20mph range, my transmission(I'm assuming) will miss grabbing the next gear, my rpm's will shoot up to around 3k and I'll coast for a second until they drop and it clunks into the correct gear.

This is intermittently happening, but today, it did it twice. Once on pavement and once on a road consisting of torn up pavement and some mud. This has been all on pavement driving, I haven't had the chance to take it off road.
I'm not overheating, fluid levels are fine, I have had it back from the transmission shop for a few weeks now.

Sounds like a solenoid or servo is on its way out/defective. That's my best guess. I'd heed USMC_Top's suggestion and take it back to the shop they will be able to pinpoint it far better than any of us could over the internet! Unless they just dont know what they are doing, maybe get a second opinion from a different shop? Goodluck!

Thanks Kyle, I've been reading up on both Hummer and Colorado/Canyon transmission issues and all signs are pointing to that.
But I am currently working on a day to run it over to the shop, having it as my DD has its ups and downs.

I feel you on that one, I DD mine too and the transmission is having a funny shift into overdrive and I just ignore it, I'm waiting for it to throw a code or fail and then ill call AAA or something. lol

Might just be a "Kyle" problem. Or an 08 H3 problem. Lol
I should probably invest in AAA at some point, I've heard only good things.

My mechanic is totally awesome at building transmissions. He hasn't done mine yet but I've seen his work. He's a 25 year super GM mechanic. He's the guy you bring things to that nobody else can figure out. Mid Michigan area if anyone is close enough I'll hook you up with him.
