Thanks automn walker. Few updates I guess....
- My wife accidentally turned on the compressor last year at highway speeds for a couples hours. eventually the compressor burnt off the oil, locked up and the belt burned away when it locked up. I purchased a new compressor, used the same fittings on the top and the new one bolted right in.
- When I started this I got a version of the compressor that the top had fittings designed for an old porsche. I have found that fitting set up is pretty rare. If I did it again I would stick with the common rotolock top and get a fitting to convert to NPT
- The hose I used was pretty cheap so over time it has bulged from the pressure. I am going back to replace small sections with hoses used for
hydraulics. They have a super strong wall and can handle heat of the engine bay as well.
- the pressure gauge I used in the engine bay had a plastic front not glass. It has melted some from some hot engine bay day.
The rest of it I would do all the same. It has been helpful both on the trail airing back up and on the side of the road a few times. I still have not gone back and added an air horn but there is always more to do right?
