Won't a block heater and oil pan heater provide enough elemental heat to also prevent lines exc.. from freezing? Theres wraps and protectors I can get for the lines as well if needed, but I was under the impression having a block & oil pan heater would minimize those kind of problems.

I had a oil pan heater pad that was siliconed to the bottom of the pan on both motor and trans along with a battery blanket on my honda when I lived there. Carried a 100' retractable extension cord to plug it in too. I never had issues other than ice build up on the hood from the engine compartment being warm after a snow fall. The radiant heat from warming the oils kept the coolant warm too.

Gas lines will ice up if water is present, we always used dry gas with every fill up. Do not heat fuel lines on a gas motor. Diesels have fuel pre heaters available for cold climates.
