Actually this post was supposed to start out asking if anybody has replaced their POS blown out far rear mini Bose speakas and what their recommendations are.....

Please don't say to start with the deck, I'm just looking for options to replace/upgrade the speakas in the far back to be compatible with the Bose amps without getting them upset.

I've already upgraded (bwaaahhh hahh haahhh hhaaaahhhh), um, changed out the front door speakers with the Rockford Fosgate POS speakas that includes the underseat 10" powered sub. I gained a little bass, which is awesome and kinda what I was looking for, but the RF's in the door tend to sound really tinny and actually hurt my teeth when I play CD's or with some music on the radio. Plan is to replace all door speakas with some Alpine Type R's.

So that leaves me needing to replace the far back speakas along with the tweets in the A-piller. Recommendations that don't include replacing the factory deck and amps? Looks like I can fit up to a 4" diameter speaka in the far back piller with minor modification.

Eventually I hope to stumble onto one of the sub boxes built for the rear driver side compartment, came close but the last boxes I found the sub had already been removed.

So back to recommendations for the little guys in back??

I gotta get a new speaker for the rear ones in the door of my T (rear driver is blown) so I'll be interested as well or will post up anything I find out!

T's are a different beast, you don't have to deal with this stupid overrated Bose system that sucked from the start.
I was always impressed with the Monsoon setup in my 3--not the greatest, but it could make impressive, clear noise. That was really the only thing I found the 3 had over the 2, oddly enough.

As for replacement stuff, I seem to remember that the Bose is somewhat proprietary and just plugging new speakers in may not work; I think the ohms are completly different.
When I got the Rockfork Fosgate setup, it included a harness that pulled signal from the deck and ran it to the sub while rerouting (I think) the input for the front speakers thru the new amp.
I actually started thinking about getting another Rockford Fosgate setup and seeing if the sub box will fit under the other side of the back seat, splitting the signal from the radio (the included harness has connectors that do this) and then feeding the added amp power to the rear door speakers. Seems like it might be a lot of rigging for a little gain though. But it could up power the rear door speakers in addition to the front doors.

I used Rockford Fosgate Prime Series speakers.

there designed to be stock replacement speakers, made with poly cones & rubber surrounds.

Usually under $50 a set., I love them. Work perfect with the factory amp setup.
