Right rear lower ball joint leak

Well, the title pretty much says it all: The right rear lower ball joint seems to be leaking an oily fluid. I thought ball joints were lubed with grease, not with oil?

since it is leaking could it be condensation, etc that could have got into a crack in the boot causing the grease to leak out more like fluid than grease? and could it be from the hub and not the balljoint?

As it turned out, the was one of the plugs on the hub that was just a tiny bit loose. Tustin Hummer tightened it back up after having refilled the hub
