So who watched King of Hammers this year?

Once I found that on YouTube I couldn't turn it off. It helps that I do YouTube Premium so I don't have to deal with commercials. 9-12 hours of coverage each day was awesome. Watching that Gladiator from Moab nosedive into the jump was painful to watch - and see the results of what it did to his Jeep. https://www.instagram.com/ghost_speed_shop/reel/DFlo7eSyjFt/ On Trailmater's channel you can see the broken front axle and the cracked frame.

I tried to give 06 H3 grief for his SAS as it was all IFS for the win. Amazing seeing the shift from built buggies to built side-by-sides on the trail and eventually winning KOH. I kinda want a Maverick R but I've also seen Trailmater tow a few of those off the trail.

The coverage gets better and better each year. Those Maverick R's are impressive. I truly wonder what they have in them over and above stock. We took my friend's uncle to the rubicon last year and his Maverik R didn't fare well. He broke a locker, had significant damage to the Can am aftermarket sliders to the point that the door sensors were malfunctioning and kept putting it in park randomly. He brought it back to the dealer and he was quoted 7k in damages. I know the one that won had a custom-built chassis where they put the OEM drivetrain back in it but I am suspecting the OEM drivetrain had a host of upgrades. I was told it was a 140k SxS ready to race. Cheap compared to the 500k 4400 cars it beat but still not canam off the showroom floor pricing.

I am bummed Shannon Campbell didn't win but it was fun regardless.

Was a wild race this year, did watch the Trailmater videos and that Gladiator crash was nuts. I went to KOH once and never again, the daytime stuff is cool but it's evil at night, some sketchy stuff going on.

One of those other custom Mavericks had the frame snap in half. Impressive, though, how they limped it back to the pits with ratchet straps holding it all together.

Night time is a disaster depending on where you are at. If you avoid chocolate thunder and backdoor you are usually pretty safe.

We went night wheeling on multiple trails and didn't have any run in's with idiots....but I know I would have, if I was at chocolate thunder or backdoor.

I recall an H3 that used ratchet straps to get off the trail. Steel Bender I think. 😂
