I always wanted to go to Canada. I see now you can get a US/can pass instead of having to buy a passport or renew your old one if your like me and quit traveling abroad. (maybe I should say to other countries for this group)

Maybe, a whole pallet at a time?? That could add $150-200 trucking plus depending on customs charges.
Is yours still rattling around over on the driver side??

yea but I havent done anything to attempt to fix it yet. My plan is to actually go under and fix it or attempt to this weekend. If it fixes it keep a rack in the trunk when I go to moab but if it still rattles and squeaks then I will change it pre moab...

THE FINAL CHAPTER Well I finally got my steering rack replaced this morning after doing a lot of research and getting a lot of advice from owners on this site. When I dropped the truck off I told them I wanted the old steering rack back because I thought I could get the seal replaced someplace. I was told ther might be a core charge. I then asked if they were putting in a rebuilt unit or a new GM part ? I was told it was a new unit, I explained thereI should be no need for a core charge then. They said they would check.I then asked if they were sure this unit did not come complete with tie rods , because I could not find any units for sale anyplace without tie rods. I was told they were pretty sure it didn't but have been wrong before so he called the parts department and had them look at the part they had gotten in for the replacement. They said the new part did have new inner tie rods and boots attached. I told them I wanted the whole assembley that was taken out. The old parts were removed and put in the box the new parts came in and put in the back of my truck. When I got home I looked under the truck and I could see new both inner and outer tie rods, when I looked at the old parts the inner and outer tie rods were attached. I now have trail spares. The moral to this story is if I had not spoken to people here and did some research I am sure somebody else would have went home with a set of tie rods. THANKS for all the input

I'm about 3500 miles out of the main warranty and GM has agreed to go 50-50 on replacing my rack assembly. Truck goes in Thurs morning to get it replaced. I can't complain . GM and my dealer have been very good to me and my toy.

Got new rack installed today. Came with all new tie rods and boots. took the less than 3 hr total and cost me $361 total. GM paid for exactly 1/2 of the bill. I'm happy.
Saved me enough cash to pay for a good synthetic winch line and a few other goodies. Old rack has to go back to GM so I couldn't get old tie rods .
