Hello H4O! Save the date! The Hummer Club Inc. has just released all of their club events for 2023! Details regarding registration and specific event info is not yet available, but will be posted on club’s website within the next month. As of now however, be sure to mark those calendars and take care of any outstanding work your Hummer may need! It is a good idea to get a head start so you aren’t trying to squeeze everything in at that last minute. Even if these events are not local to you, they are definitely worth traveling to attend! Some current Hummer Club members travel 5 hours, 10 hours, or even 15+ hours (one way) in order to come out to these events. For this reason, the first & last days of the events are travel days allowing attendees who live farther away time to factor in their arrival and departures. H1s, H2s, H3s, HEVs and Humvees are all welcome! If interested, you can find more info on the official Facebook group page called “The HUMMER Club, Inc.” Also here is the club website: thehummerclubinc.com

Looks like some cool events! I have to say though, never would have thought “Hummer Event” and “Tail of the Dragon” would occur in the same sentence!

Haha yeah that one is an on-road event. Personally I am not into those style of events, but the Hummer Club has always been putting on events for those who don't like to take their Hummer offroad so everyone can be included. Back in the day the club use to host fishing events, disaster relief help, and parking lot meetups.

The Dragon is pretty awesome, and yes I did drive it in the H3 once. Beautiful road.
Haven't ever got to try it yet, but it looks fun! Just not sure how fun it would be in my lifted H3, Probably a lot of body roll lol. 😅

Thanks for the info!!

Anyone heading to Windrock in March or have in the past?
I’m looking for info on where to camp or hotels in the area.
I have been there twice before. The designated hotel for the event is DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Oak Ridge - 215 S Illinois Ave, Oak Ridge, TN 37830 . Its nice having everyone at the same hotel because we typically all hang out and do a campfire behind the hotel. Its also convenient so everyone can easily get together in the morning to head to the park at the same time. Windrock Park does also have their own campground where you can rent a space, but I would perfer staying at the hotel. https://windrockpark.com/campground

Here is the full info on the March Windrock event:

We are headed back to one of our favorite venues with 300+ miles of off-road trails on 72,000 acres in the beautiful Tennessee Mountains. The park has plenty of different trails for all types of vehicles and adrenaline levels, plus beautiful mountain scenery around every corner. This event is all about the trails, off-roading, and Camaraderie. We will be kicking up mud and crawling over rocks. For this specific March event there is also going to be a bonus off road day offered on March 23rd to Royal Blue OHV Sand Mines. This is a different offroad park than Windrock. If you are interested in getting another day of wheeling in, make sure to be at the hotel early in the morning on the 23rd or arrive the previous day on March 22nd. If you have any questions about the Sand Mines, contact Mike Owens and he can help you out.

Park Info:
We recommend buying park permit prior to the event because the Windrock General Store can get very busy most mornings and just delay our heading to the trails. You can pay for your park permit and learn more about the park by visiting Windrock’s website: https://windrockpark.com/

Hotel Info:
DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Oak Ridge - 215 S Illinois Ave, Oak Ridge, TN 37830

Registration:
In order to attend this event, you must be an active Hummer Club Member. If you are not yet a member, you can join by registering on the Hummer Club Inc’s official website. Extra Event shirts will be available for sale at $20 each. Remember the event fee must be paid via the Hummer Club online registration process. The event fee includes the group diner on Saturday (still planning location). Park permit fees must be paid in addition to the event registration fee. Park permits are required for each person, no matter their age or activity, to be on the trails at Windrock. Each person entering the area is required to have their permit with them at all times while on the property.

Guests:
Club members are always allowed to bring guests that are not club members as passengers in their Hummer. For this event, club members will also be allowed to sponsor one guest that is not a club member that can drive a Hummer or non-Hummer 4x4 vehicle. This driver and vehicle must remain in the same group as the sponsoring club member who will be responsible for their conduct. This guest and vehicle must follow the same rules as club members. Please note, that members can sponsor only one extra driver and vehicle.

Important Notes:
* Drivers meeting each morning in the parking lot of the hotel.
* All trucks should be fueled and prepared to leave for the trails without having to make any extra stops.
* Be sure to pack lunch and bring plenty of water to stay hydrated. Some extra snacks and a lawn chair for sitting when we lunch on the trail would be a plus.
* A CB for communication is required – and makes the event more fun and easier. Inform your trail leader if you do not have CB communication.
* Be certain that your truck is well maintained and that it is in good operational condition. Bring likely spare parts and tools if you have them.
* Be prepared for long trail days (food, water, fuel, clothing), you never know what might happen.

If you are interested in getting another day of wheeling in, show up the day before on March 22nd. The designated hotel we will be staying at is the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Oak Ridge - 215 S Illinois Ave, Oak Ridge, TN 37830. Call the hotel at 1-865-481-2468 to make your reservation room block with code “Hummer Run 1”. Yes there is! As of now we have 13 Hummers coming. 2x H1s, 3x H2s, and 7 H3s. It should be a pretty good turn out! 😁😁 😁

Well, I was wanting to attend this year after watching the video of last year's Windrock event, but the I5 decided that it needed a break. Close to pulling the trigger on what type of repairs/upgrades will be in the works so hope to see everyone at the fall event.
