Hey guys,

the tires I have right now will be bald in a month or two. I have 35" Nitto Trail Grapplers which look pretty large to me, however sometimes I feel like they aren't big enough. My rim size will allow me to go up to 37" tires and thats what I think I'll be doing.

A) Will 37"s fit without a lift

B) If A is yes, if someone who is running 37"s on H2 would post a pic of that.......

Hate to spoil the direction of the thread, but he has a H2, not a H3.

37"s will absolutely fit with no lift! The key is stock wheels, or ones with the same offset, and not too wide. Look at any pictures of my truck. Stock height with a slight T-bar crank, stock wheels, and 37x12.50-17 Cooper STTs. I tried some Toyo 37x14.50-17, and there was no way.

I can stuff these all the way to the bumps and don't rub my wheel wells. They do rub slightly at full lock on the sway bar, however, the stock ones did as well. If you look at almost any H2 with stock wheels, you will see a shiny spot on the sway bar.

37's are no problem. Might scrub the sway bar at full lock, but my stock 35's did too.

I was planning on 37 x 12.50 nitto mud grapplers, so I should be fine. Scarsman, have your 37s ever bottomed out the wheel well?

No, I haven't. At absolute full stuff the rear will just barely rub the plastic wheel well liner in a couple spots. But not hard enough to wear. It wipes the dirt off but that's about it. In the front I've never noticed any rubbing at all. I'll try and find a couple pics of mine.

Nice looking rig man! Just wondering, where'd you get that grill guard?

I actually scored it on Craigslist for $75, I got it powder coated and it's like brand new. I forget who made it but its a popular supplier, someone here probably knows as they were fairly common but I'm just drawing a blank. Running 37's is not an issue at all, I have a little rub in the front at like 98% turning but that's it. I would definitely go for 37's if you are gonna get new tires.

Hers one showing how far I've stuffed the rears:

This is about the extent of the front stuffing. It would go more with the sway bar disconnected, but I haven't figured out a good way to do that yet. Problem is the ends are between the upper and lower control arms. If you disconnect it there is no where for the ends to go without hitting things. Still working on that one!

Yeah after the replies from H2 owners, I'm probably going to end up getting the 37's. And one more question off the top of my head, have the bigger tires affected the power steering at all for you guys?

Not really. Mine seemed about the same when I switched. I've always wished it was a bit stronger.

Scarsman, in the first pic did that do any damage to the tire or truck. Could that be prevented from happening by installing a spacer on the bump stop?

Nope! No damage at all. I suppose you could move the bump stop, but there's no need to. That is just the stock suspension working as designed. This was with the stock tires right after I got the truck, but the other side looks like this:

If you want better stands go with 4.5" back spacing on new rims. Tires will stick out a little but u will need 4.5" BS if u going to install a lift (I had FABTECH 6"). It looked awesome before and after a lift. I had 37x13.5/18

can the spacers just be installed, or was it a whole separate wheel you had to purchase? where do I find one?

It would be the wheels. Backspacing is where the mounting surface on the wheel is in relation to the center line of the wheel.

It's funny how having 12.50 and 13.50 made such a huge difference in requiring to both lift and add 2 inch spacers all around on my H2 (I'm running 37x13.50x22's Nitto Trail Grapplers)
