Car wash just snapped of my son’s passenger side mirror. Fixin to go to war! Dumbass kid said they usually don’t cover broken plastic on cars that old.

I made my kid get the manager and GM’s phone numbers.

changed lower right Balljoint  also got a new front drive shaft from Rockauto , OEM one was also cut. Some longer branch or so must have killed both , cause something did cut through my last trip in the woods and grease was all gone.

I'm not surprised Rock Road's bent up. Before the first H3 Hummer was produced, I knew those sliders wouldn't hold up to much heavy-duty usage. It's partly why I designed mine in the first place. Rock Road and I are not playing the same game.

Anyway, I'm very confident in the design and strength of the 2nd Gen Rock Sliders I have developed. I have 7 sets in production right now and I feel like a child waiting for Christmas day.
You missed my point, The rocky roads were not enough and even going substantially beefier than that, it still wasnt enough, it took 1.5x3 .25wall steel to not bend the sliders. 3/8 wall 5052 will not hold up to the same abuse 1.5x3 .25wall will.

Painful and expensive lesson. Drive through carwashes almost always have declaimers out front and recommend folding mirrors in. I had an antenna pulled off and they pointed to the sign. H3 mirrors are $$$, good luck.

i seriously don't get why anybody uses drive-through car warshes... a 5yr-old with a hose pipe in the driveway results in the same level of cleanliness and has about the same likelihood of breaking something - except he'll do it for a cookie instead of $20!

even then, half price at the do-it-yourself bay works so much better. that's why i just bought my own pressure warsher.

New soft touch carwash 2 blocks away, 60+ hours a week at work, 5 cars to clean, unlimited supreme package for $20 a month, no kids to help, and they look great when they come out. But if your 5 year old wants a bag of cookies let me know, I'll even have my wife make fresh homemade supersize cookies. Just have to remember to tuck the mirrors in.

i'll keep that in mind...

meanwhile, my valve cover gaskets finally arrived Saturday. i got the truck back together that evening, and it's already driving better. throttle's definitely a little more responsive. i'll check the catch can in a couple days to see if anything actually changed.

Me a big sign, a dangling mirror, and warning every customer that drives up about getting their mirror snapped off. I guarantee that will cost them more than 1 mirror. I’m the nicest guy you’d ever want to meet, until I’m not.

Public sidewalk and legal parking right where they turn into the wash.

Later!
