Okee dokee... so I've been looking at American Racing AR62s for a while now as a decent looking, solid wheel for 285s. But when I ended up with an H3 instead of a pickup, suddenly Tire Rack doesn't list them as a recommended size. Is there something about them I don't know? I'm guessing it's because this wheel doesn't have an offset... but then again, there are a lot of wheels listed which also have no offset. I'm also not very interested in buying from Tire Rack, just so you know.
Since like so many GM truck platforms with hub/bearing assemblies, these things as you all know have a FWD-like wheel offset (I think I'm seeing 31-34mm but I haven't measured mine) and was wondering how you guys with 0-offset wheels are doing with replacing hubs. Having done about six pairs of hubs in my old ZR2, I'm hoping that they last at LEAST a year. I'm also hoping that with 285s on 16×8s with zero offset there won't be ANY rubbing in full compression and turn. Because I WILL end up beating on this a little, even as a daily driver. But I also know that GMs hub assembly designs are kinda gyabage.
Shocks came in today. Swap them in Wednesday, crank the torsion keys, and get an alignment... then I should be good to take the "shortcut" roads to work (an old logging trail which will save me about 5 minutes on my 35-minute drive). That's the kind of daily driving I'm used to.
