Thank you!
rare animal - honestly, I'd look for an loaded Alpha, then I'd add the adventure package with better bits (air lockers, lift, etc).... were I to do my alpha adventure again - that'd be my path. In the end, with mine, I'll put an air locker (or e-locker) in the front and a detroit locker in the back and lift it with a rancho 4" kit... which kind of defeats the entire purpose of buying an Adventure package truck
and welcome aboard - you really are near where I live
Thanks for the reply and what a great area we have here, right? We just returned from a light overland trip on the shores of Banks Lake near Grand Coulee last weekend and we are likely going to explore up near Keechelus Lake this weekend, cannot wait! Here’s a shot of me gunning a rocky gap at about 50% throttle at Banks (takes a bit of wheelspin to engage the Vari-lockers with the Jeep Quadradrive so you have to white-knuckle a little to engage it):
I’ve considered the aftermarket route but it seems that is much more than I want to pay out of pocket after a vehicle purchase on top of other plans. But it is not out of the question (my brother is a parts manager for a Chevy dealer here in the area so I can take advantage of family discounts).
This on is Athens AL. I have seen it and it's a good looking rig. But it does not have leather seat and has 87k on the odometer. Asking price is 24500.
It is listed on Craigslist for the Huntsville al area.
But if you can find one I would get a 5speed call me bias but I like my little h3t adventure. She might not be an alpha but she turns heads where ever she goes.
I saw that one, the miles are too high for me though the price is right. I need the V8 for towing so the 3.7L is not an option. Plus I am a speed freak so a cam and other small mods will happen afterwards (I don’t commute much so gas mileage is at the bottom of my list). But one of my favorite looking H3T’s is Chris’ red 3.7L for sale in the classifieds right now.
I don't think its an Alpha, but one of our members has a sweet ass H3T Adventure for sale.

That’s the one! I love that truck. I seriously pondered dropping a V8 in it with light mods and calling it a day but I’d like something turnkey because I am impatient
Few and far between. If I ever find one within 50 or 100 miles of where I am in UT I'll try to make a deal on it. I have an H3T lux/adventure (leather, loaded other than nav, lockers), and the I5 is adequate, but I miss having a V8.
The numbers are definitely against me given how few of these were sold in the first place. I am very sad that they didn’t take to our market and now are no longer made. My brother recommended that I research the V8 Colorado but no way I could drive something that common looking.
Whew! I saw Skeptic's name as the last post on this and thought he was going to sell his!!
BTW--emetDW, welcome to the forums. Even though you're not a HUMMER owner yet, you've got the taste and will own one soon enough!
Thank you for the kind words! I can already tell that I will like it here, what a warm welcome this thread has been.
Sell?? Sure, if I'm buying a better one...
BTW emetdw - I'm a Jeep convert and still consider myself a Jeeper at heart, but I think you hit the key reasons I drive a Hummer. It's the combination of on-road comfort and off-road ability that got me into an H3. Lockers front and rear, comfy leather seats, sunroof, backup camera, etc. (all depending on year and options), plus it rides nice, has reinforced frame and can run 35" tires without a lift. After my wife decided to sell "her" Avalanche I needed a truck bed, looked over the available options, and traded my H3 for an H3T.
Welcome!
Nice Jeeps and nice H3T! That is reassuring to hear from another Jeep owner. I’ll keep my Overland for my wife, she loves to drive it and it has been very good to us (we’ve nicknamed it Keith Richards because it refuses to die). The 35’s stock is such a big selling point for me, I can only fit 30.5’s on my Overland before I have to lift. Even after a lift, I have to cut my fenders to go bigger than 33’s. And I am not going to cut my fenders.
Now that I'm feeling nostalgic and have hijacked this thread - one of my old Yellow short-bus H3 and Twinmill28's blingy H2:
I hope you're happy in FL, but I wish you wouldn't have moved, it can be hard to find Hummers to wheel with at times.
That looks like a fun trail, I already can’t wait to finish work this week and get out in the mountains.
