I'm excited to say we finally made our decision after going through everything. This time for sure. We're going to be shipping my car to Wichita Kansas where mash motors will be putting in a 420hp and 460torque 6.2L EcoTech V8 which will give me 18 city and 24 highway. While keeping the 4.56 gears this should be more then enough power then i'll ever need. I'll ask them to take pictures and talk to me along the way, so that I can give you all insight to the whole process.

Also, yesterday I spent a good 14 hours going through every single plug and wire I could think of and found 0 mud/gunk/corrosion. If that continues, i'm guessing electrical problems will be a minimum.

It's only money but more importantly, derian's money to spend any way he sees fit and he will only learn and grow from this experience. We may not agree and wouldn't spend our money the same way but like the old Doritos commercial
slogan used to say, "Don't worry, we'll make more". We all need to live and learn and live and let live! Buenos nachos...or is it, "Buena's noches"? :D

For that kind of money I would've bought a Prius. I heard it performs great off road and gets 50mpgs! Im regretting buying a h3 instead of a Prius

lolololololololol I thought your budget was 10k or less...

You should hold out for the 6.2l ecotec L86 v8...

Or buy a freaking alpha... for $21,900 maybe less if you talk them down.. http://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/vehicledetails.xhtml?zip=72401&endYear=2015&modelCode1=H3&showcaseOwnerId=0&startYear=1981&makeCode1=AMGEN&searchRadius=0&maxPrice=22000&showcaseListingId=0&mmt=%5BAMGEN%5BH3%5B%5D%5D%5B%5D%5D&listingId=365659910&Log=0

Thats the engine they're putting in and plus I would have better then an alpha now... Plus 0miles on the engine and transmission.

The budget was 10k, but quality over price. If i'm going to save my Hummer, I've got to make it something worth saving. And now i've got a brand spankin new Hummer H3!

I'm going to be making plenty more then 20k in my lifetime! This decision gives me so much joy, to image my hummer rockin more hp then a Ford Raptor.

The way the engine works is actually really cool, it works by activating and deactivating cylinders electronically to turn a V8 platform into a V6 when needed. So when you need the power of the V8 you have it, but when you're driving for everyday use you have the gas mileage of a V6. That really is some innovation.

Awesome, can't wait to see the end results. I'm sure you'll enjoy it. Keep the new motor out of water crossings If you can

Good luck on the build. Now we have the same 6.2L engine. Are they installing a 6 speed tranny?
