Post Pics Of Your Back-up Camera Location

My wife's really uncomfortable with the visibility when backing or parking the H3T so I got this back-up camera on ebay. It's tiny (.5" dia) and has great image. it rotates in the bracket so it can be mounted over or under:

My problem is that the H3T bumper doesn't have any place to mount it cleanly at the center of the bumper. I'd like to see how others mounted back-up cams on an H3T. I avoided the license bracket style camera because I thought the off-center image would be disorienting, but would like to know how others like them since I may go that way after all.

I's also like to see front cam mounts since I'm planning that too. Amazon has a switcher for head units so a front cam can be used with a back-up cam.

You will notice very little difference with it mounted off center. My 2010 H3 Alpha/Offroad has the factory setup and I drive Fire Engines with them mounted to one side or the other with no problem. Good Luck

Great thing about this setup is that you can align a trailer perfectly.

Yes, you can. A lot better than the factory setup on my Silverado that has it on an angle in the center of the tailgate. And with the back up warning system, guess where GM puts the warning triangle on the screen when getting close to the trailer? Right where the trailer needs to meet the hitch. Basically blocks the view.

I think I found a solution with this camera that's a flush fit in the bumper. Never saw this style before today. Needs a 1/2" hole in bumper, but I already have four for parking sensors so what's one more!

Not sure if these are aftermarket or factory but, I have a lot of customers that seem to have no problems moving them around. I still use the "back-up until something stops you" method (hopefully not a toddler).

Buy one that fits flush because then it won't get stolen.
Clueless thieves...not worth the risk for a $20 item...and I imagine they leave the necessary cables on the vehicle.

My T had the stock backup camera, my 2 has an after market camera off center on the license plate mount on the external tire carrier. I can see how lining up for a trailer would be much better with a camera right above the hitch, but for normal use being off center doesn't seem to matter. I use the side mirrors for lining up anyway, like backing into a parking space, and the camera lets me see what's behind me and how close I am to that little car or big rock I wouldn't otherwise be able to see at all.

What are you guys doing for monitor setup inside?

Stock setup on the T was just the little screen in the rear view mirror. For the 2 I'm using the screen on my Pioneer AppRadio 3. Bigger screen is much mo betta, plus the stereo is better in general, has bluetooth, and lets me run Android Apps on the head unit.

I've considered that but I need a spacer for the tiny cam so it would see over the snap-on cap on the receiver. I want to keep the cap. Might try a small piece of plywood covered with black tape.
