I am using a custom sensor on the torque pro app. If you have a scan gauge or similar or an Android phone you can check the transmission temperature.

I’d be happy with any temp reading really. Installed the torque app on my wife’s old android. I have an option to add gauges for Trans temperature method 1, and method 2. None of them give me a number though.

I think it might be bit dusty where you live

It is very dusty here, washed it a month ago. Welcome to the desert, where the sky is yellow and water is an import. If the heat doesn’t get you, the dust will eventually

Ignore that, figured it out & its already on the forum, my bad. Here’s the link to that.

Temps reached a maximum of 178 F while going 80mph
And 149 F at idle

What's the outside ambient?

It's not the absolute (as in working vs degrees kelvin...[emoji15]) temperature that you need to first worry about, first thing is the temperature rise over ambient.

If the outside temp is 100 F and your running at 180 then your temperature rise is not too high, even though the working temperature may be too high. Your then solving one problem instead of two problems.

When you installed the radiator did you add fluid to the system?

If I recall correctly I lost less than a pint on install but had to add some additional oil once it was up to temperature to keep a proper flow through the radiator. You need the radiator full to avoid air bubbles which will cause a hot spot.

It took around 10 liters (or 21 pints) to fill up the tranny, cooler and plumbing.

The ambient temperature at the time of the test was 120 F.

I’l check to see if the level is down & top it up accordingly.
