this is broad! lol the best question is what size rim and we can go from there :)

I know a 16" rim would work fine, but I am wondering if its the backspacing? Then comes the question that's been explained numourus times but I cant freakin remember it. Why cant I run stock wheels?

The backspacing of the stock wheels is 5.75 I believe. Because of that the tire will hit the larger knuckle that is used with the lift kit. In order for your tire to clear the knuckle you will need 4.6-4.5 backspacing depending on how wide of a tire/wheel you have

If I had 12.5" wide tires rather than 13.5" I may have gotten away with the 5" backspacing, who knows.

Stock wheel backspacing is 5.83 and any rim 16-18 rancho recommends 4.5 im running a stock rim with rancho using a 1.5in spacer, it works but is really close so im gonna go to 1.75in

motorsports tech. They make billet aluminum spacers. Those are the best kind never get spacers from a cast.

This has to be one of my favorite wheel and tire combo on the GM build Ranch lifted SOA H3. 17x8.5" Hutchinson beadlocks with a 4.51" BS and 35x12.50R17 BFGoodrich KM2. Also note the H3T steelie center caps.

Ill post this one because I have always been a sucker for boggers. Tires are 35x10.50-16 Interco Super Swamper Boggers and the wheels are 16x8" with a 4.25" BS. The steel wheels are U.S. Wheel 84 Series Daytona and the alloy wheels are Eagle Alloy Series 185 (both made in the USA btw ).

I really like those wheels, they compliment the truck very well! Thanks!
I am running 17x8.5 Moto metal sculls with a -12 offset and 33" Mickey Thompson mtz soon to change to 35"
No spacers

I don't have a Rancho lift but I picked up a set of 17x9 moto metal 951s w/35" KM2s in anticipation of the day that I might add a Rancho lift to the T. That day hasn't yet happened but I currently use these tires/wheels as my offroad set of shoes on the T. I have seen these rims on Rancho lited H3s and 1 H3T and they fit perfectly - no spacers needed - and because of the offset, have more than sufficient knuckle clearance.

The question I have for those of you running non-OEM wheels on your lifted rigs is - do you use hub rings to have a snug hub centric fit on the H3's 100.6 hub bore, as most of these after market wheels have either 108 or 106 hub bores? If not, do you have wheel-wobble at highway speeds?

Rancho lift with 285s? I thinks you be needing to go to 315s. Might look whimpish with a 4" lift on 285s IMHO.

Solid, get 17x9" rims and I will give you my 35" KM2 take offs with plenty of tread left on them if we can figure out a way to get the tires to you in Texas. That rim size and tire combo is the perfect size for a Rancho-lifted H3/H3T. Seriously.

I would but I need 300 miles out of a tank and that's almost 13 MPG. I'm worried that would kill me but I would take a look if you don't mind.
