there are valves located on the bumper where he can fill and adjust psi in the air bags. I had the same question.

I used the 3" spacer, but a 4" would fit it would limit the upward travel and not stretch the airbag as far at full droop.

Did not get the onboard air system. If you were planning on towing and or taking off and adding weight constantly onboard air would be worth it. I just pu 40 lbs in and forget about them. Had to add some air when it got colder out just like tires.

I have them installed and didn't have to install spacers ?We made sure that there was still the travelWhen you go off road you should deflate the bag to about 5psi so they can stretch and shift the air from one side to the otherThey are great for towing and leveling you truck if you have stuff in the backand the on board air is awesome

Like you showed me in Attica the springs apparently have a different arch and come down sooner at that point than OEM. I will just have all the future skids 1 inch shorter where they turn up if I can. I believe at one time I had an issue with how they bent them in the press. I can check for sure. I know they made some type of device to hold them.
When you cut yours let me know how much you needed to cut off to have clearance at full droop.
Maybe the other guy will also so I can see how the ones I cut did.
How much air pressure was in the bags in the shot of the skid? 40 pounds? When you air them up it lifts the frame pushing away from the axles at the point the bags are mounted, correct? So if I understand that would bow the springs more also?

Hunner I plan on cutting them tomorrow so I'll let ya know. That pic was at 60psi which I never run, did that for refference of how much the springs will lift the truck. Yes the more air you add the farther the axle is from the frame and the more the springs bow. Skippy you probably have the hummer air bag kit which is no longer produced I used a kit for a Chevy Silverado and made it fit the Hummer.

:bump:

Just curious here...what benefit do the airbags offer? Or perhaps "what purpose do they serve?" is a better question. I don't mean that in a rude way -- I'm sincerely curious.

Not sure if I've said it yet, but you've got a great looking T.

He will give a better personal review seeing I dont have airbags but from a general overview I can help...

Airbags are usually used for trucks that have big loads, like an F-350 as a ranch truck or a toy hauler type truck. The airbags would aid in getting rid of that "so cal lean." Us Rancho/tuff country lifted guys use them just to aid in getting rid of the sagging we have without any load. A nicer ride comes with that too. Personally I love the air bag thought, If I was to do it I would want to add a tank so I could have on the fly adjustments. The only reason I stayed away from the bags is that I feel the rancho springs were inadequate to begin with and seeing I can get the deavers for a little bit more then the rancho spring packs I thought why not.

Went with the airbags because I know they work, had them on 4 different 3/4 and 1 ton trucks. If I carry more weight just add air carry less weight and want a smooth ride let out some air. I've done the double add a leaves an also the lift blocks. If I could I would have airbags at all 4 corners and take out the torsion bars and leaf springs, seen some jeeps that way and they can climb over anything.

Do the airbags add any height?

Your truck seems to be very high. Although that could be somewhat from the body lift and from the Thorparts bumper as well.

I only lift it an 1 1/2 with the airbags to be a little higher than the front. but with 90 lbs of air in them you could raise it 4 inches.

Honestly Id love airbags in terms of ride quality, I just got freaked out in terms of failure, the whole "steel has less problems then rubber bags" got stuck in my head. One day I would love to see an air bagged H3...

Gfb do you wish you had adjustable air control in the cab?

Hans and gfbh3t wanna see flex on a jeep with bags?

06h3 yes sometimes I would like the in cab controller just so I would not have to get out the portable air compressor. And I think that jeep has the AiRock suspension kit that I had seen on the trail sold by Off Road Only, If I did a straight axle conversion I would use something like it.
