So I recieved my 2865 from the couriers today, wasn't expecting it untill the 15th, so a aerly pressent to me :)

So first thing was to do the online update and make sure I have the latest software, dang it took a while to load.

Now I need your help, when I connect it to the OBD2 it powers up, and i can view my hummers vin and everything, but when i want to load a tune it telle me to switch the ignition to ON, i do this and then get the message to verify ignition is on, whereafter the Flashpaq restarts, am I doing something wrong :sigh:

No, you're doing it right. First step is plug in tuner. Next is turn key to ON. Then it will give you options on tuner screen. Go to tune vehicle, and select tune.

If that is not what's happening for you, I think you need to give SC an email or post on their forum.

Keep us updated...

Ok, here might be my problem:

First step is plug in tuner. Next is turn key to ON. Then it will give you options on tuner screen. Go to tune vehicle, and select tune.

What I did:
Plug in tuner, play around to see what options is available. Go to tune, select advanced. Tuner asks for ignition ON so I insert the Key and turn it to on. Flashpaq then gives the "make sure ignition is ON" message and then resets when you press OK.

Will try it again tonight when I get home, thanks for the heads up, the instruction leaflet that comes with the unit is really crappy at explaining things (or is it just me trying to make up excuses )

Man I wish I came to work with the Hummer today, this is going to bug me untill i get home tonight, arggg, 9 hours and counting

I just updated my programmer. It updated just fine with the new Superchips Update program. Went to install the 87 Octane tune like I always have before, and after it goes through the process of updating the programmer memory, and then starts the tune, it says TUNER ERROR! CALL SUPERCHIPS! and it makes that same buzzer noise.
Call and spoke to Ron at Superchips and had to attach the tuner to the Superchips Update program again. They read my tuner and gave me a case number. He said hopefully they will have an answer within the next few days.
So if anyone is thinking about updating their programmer you may want to wait!

They're pretty good about getting stuff fixed quickly.

I had the T in the shop about a month ago and my tech put the newest GM update on my computer. I had gone back to stock before my visit, and when I tried to update it did not work... I posted on the Superchips forum and they had it fixed for me in about 4 days.

Superchips sent me an update that reverted my tuner to the old version. Worked great!
Just a warning to future folks using the superchips tuner. You have to use version database v292. The new database does not work with our Alpha models for some reason.

So who wants to buy mt Flashpaq

Sam from superchips is yet to respond to my last 3 e-mails I send, and on top of that I have had to create 3 accounts now as my update software would state that my account isn't found on the system.

Guess I will have to make a long distace call that's going to cost me a fortune to talk to a technician.

the superchips website is terrible; however, I wouldn't give up on trying to update the device - once you can get logged in it works well.

I'm running the performance (91) and towing tunes on my H2 depending on what I'm doing. I notice a bit of a difference in the truck and the MPG has slightly improved. I paid $200 for my Flashpaq used - I think I would have been disappointed if I paid retail.

As for running it with aftermarket boltons (headers, air intake, etc) superchips says that the truck's computer will compensate for those automatically and that their "tune" will just work with those parts. You only need to worry about special tunes if you do something like put on a supercharger.

I can confirm that on the H2 the flashpaq can adjust tire size - it's in the advanced options.

So your sayin that since i just updated it, its not gunna work? Aw man!

Not sure...maybe it will work with your Alpha. I know Ron at Superchips stated that after I called in, that he had several other people with the same issue. You may have to call in and have them revert it back to the older version. Ron did say that there is no difference for the H3 Alphas on the update. It's exactly the same as the old version, but something got messed up when they created the update.
On another note, I'm running the 87 Octane tune now. I noticed that when my AC is on and I stop at a light, that the Alpha seems to idle a tad higher and vibrates a little. Is this normal? Doesn't seem to affect the H3, but was just curious.

Sennin,

Shoot me a PM and I will try and contact them on your behalf. Might be a bit easier for me since I'm on their side of the world and they've helped me out before. :)

No promises during this coming week (very busy at work) but I will do my best to help you out.

If you haven't already, I really suggest you join their forum and post there. Ron has always been very quick to respnd to my inquiries there.

Thanks, Will definately take you up on your offer. I'm in no hurry as the H3 isn't my daily driver, so I have a week or two before my next trip and would like to have it working by then for some testing

EDIT:

my current flashpaq versions:
GM Tuner 2865 V2.13
GM Diesel DB V062
GM Car DB V152
GM Gas Truck DB V335

guess they just need to downgrade my version?

Any update? I just won a Flashpaq at ebay.com and as I own an european H3 Alpha, which comes from the same plant as yours, I might also have the same problem... ;-)

Thank's!

Hi Martin,

I actually got side tracked a bit, and havent followed up, but will do so. It seams my problem was the upgrade I did, as stated previously in the thread. So in theory it should work fine if its running the pre upgrade software, I'm trying to get mine downgraded to see if its going to work.

Sennin, if you downgrade it may help. You should check with your local dealer to make sure you have the latest GM flash on your PCM as well. If it hasn't been updated since 08 that might be some of the trouble as well.

Sorry I have not yet called SC on your behalf. Did you join their web forum? They are great at helping folks on there (me included)!

Glad it arrived quickly. I like the Linq a lot. Will post a review eventually.
