I was perusing Amazon last night and found this nifty device: :link:

This device will replace your OnStar with a bluetooth receiver for your cell phone. It allows you to use the built-in microphone and buttons on the mirror. Little on the pricey side but may be what some members are looking for.

Amazon has it listed for $279.00. :link:

I would buy that but I would look up some reviews to make sure it's legit. But also you can prolly get Bluetooth installed for that price with some radios I think. That way you can keep onstar

I have the Galaxy 1000 OnStar to Bluetooth converter, I've had it for about a year and not a single problem. Best $250.00 I've ever spent, installed it and had it operating in minutes.

so what all do you have to do to get that working? is it just a plug and play?...

Disconnect the two connectors from OnStar and plug in the two connectors from the Argos Galaxy 1000, follow the instructions on the paperwork, the OnStar controls on the mirror are used and the push button next to the light switch on the dash is not used. Check out the website...I think it has everything you need to know. If you need any other info the owner is very helpful...very nice guy. www.galaxy1000.com
Good luck.

I had the COSTAR unit about 3 years ago. The company is Legit and extremely helpful however it didn't work correctly in my H2 and ultimatly after lots of tech help I returned it for a full refund. I'm pretty sure it was because my onstar converted from analog to digital and maybe some wires weren't correct. Either weay that was a long time ago and prolly worked out any kinks. I also know a few other guys who got it and it worked perfect.
