R.I.P. Chris Kyle, U.S. Navy SEAL Retired

Chris Kyle was shot and killed at a shooting range at the Rough Creek Lodge in Texas, murdered along with a second individual.

Chris had been volunteering his time to help Marine Corps veterans suffering from PTSD and mentoring them. Part of this process involved taking these veterans to the range where one of them snapped and killed Chris and his neighbor for reasons that remain unknown at this time. The perpetrator then stole Chris’ vehicle in an attempt to escape but we have received word that the police have since arrested him.

Chris Kyle served as a sniper in the US Navy SEALs and is best known to the American public from writing his memoir, “American Sniper.” After his service, Chris ran a training program called The Craft. Although recognized as America’s deadliest sniper, Chris was known to friends as a very down to earth and humble man.

Speaking of the coming conflict it is pretty shocking to me how many posters on military.com say they would open fire on American civilians if ordered to do so. And you are right,it sure would be nice to have Chris on your side.

Military.com has always been a liberal site, nothing surprises me from there. When this thing breaks, people in the military will be like everyone else, split. Some of us will be on both sides. I am glad of this though, from my experience, most of the combat arms folks will be with us.

Chris I could never be happy an American hero was killed but your Liberal neighbors could. I never underestimate anyone. The best thing that could come out of this is the understanding that Chris and others that PTSD is as serious as it really is and it deserves the attention and the money to help solve these issues. These youg men are sick from what they did for all of us and they deserve the best care available and not cut back health care to save a buck. We owe these men and women more than we can repay.

It will get worse now that women can be sent to combat.

Can you imagine drafting women. I have all the respect in the world for women but most would have no desire or even the mindset to go to war. I really am ok with the ones that want to but I do believe we have more that do not want to than do. This will be another big mess before it is sorted out.

I don't condone what happened at all, but what we need to understand is that our military trains and expects normal folks to kill, and it really is my belief that once you flip that switch and kill, the longterm effects aren't always known. Many people come out on the other side and live the rest of their lives with no issues, but occasionally you get some screwed up Poo-Bahs that just don't come back from it.
