2007 H3 Shifts hard from 1st to 2nd

When starting from a stop, tranny shifts smooth in every gear, but when slowing down to about 1 or 2 mph (stop and go traffic) after it downshifts, it always shifts real hard into 2nd from first when up shifting only. If you stop, it shifts smooth, but any rolling or moving at all it shifts hard with a loud clunk and you can feel it. All other gears are fine and very smooth. 65,000 miles, oil looks clean good color, no burnt smell. I do not have the lockers, and this is when in AWD. Could it need the trans software flashed as it may be shifting to late? or at wrong speed? I had a 93 F-250 did the same thing, but it waas all the time not sporadic like this...any thoughts? Thanks for any suggestions or help. I have searched here and found nothing about it?

I've had a similar problem recently. It turned out to be a transmission speed censor. It is covered under power-train warranty and dealer should take care of it.

Double check your crossmember bushing. If it is shot, your diff could be rocking back and forth which it will do under the conditions you described, and might feel like a transmission issue. Plus, it only takes about 60 seconds to crawl under the truck and see if that's the issue.

Got an update on that shifting issue ? Mines been doing it since I bought it and seeing this got me concerned.

No, bushing looked ok have not had the time to get to the dealer. I just feather on the 1st shift or go hard and I dont feel it shift at all. Trying to get to dealer during holidays and will post once that happens.
