Are you guys excited about the new redesign wrangler coming out in 2016-2017? I know I am. I'm diffinatly getting one. What do you guys think it will have?

I won't be going to a jeep that soon lol. But yea the off-road world is gonna flip over the suspension. Becoming more like a hummer every model year!

yep looking like a hummer, i guess jeep guys forgot to that the original jeeps back in the early war where ifs irs, it was changed because the jeep was to small for it and when driving at higher speeds it had a tendency to roll over and without a roll cage was very deadly. but the h1 is wide and it works perfect, as with ours it works just fine, people need to get off that high horse that what i own is better for everything attitude, what works in some cases great may not work in other cases so well, i think the ifs in our rigs is great, makes a more comfortable ride and a decent clearance in the front. i would like to see ours have irs, then no worries on the sagging spring some guys get.

GM ticks me off...My mom just brought her GMC acadia in for 2 recalls and a CEL light all with 19k miles on it. My parents have bought 4 GM vehicles in a row for our family vehicle that can haul all of 4 kids and our stuff. 2001 GMC Yukon XL, 2006 GMC Yukon XL, 2009 GMC Yukon XL Denali and a 2013 GMC Acadia. I watched with my own eyes that every vehicle got worse the newer they are. The 2001 and 2006 were pretty flawless but the 09 was terrible the motor and trans were the only good thing about that car. Everything else around it fell apart. The door handles, the buttons, etc. It always was a problem. The acadia is the same way but this time with recalls and CELs which are worse then an interior falling apart.

The 06 H3 I have is great. 127k miles I beat the day lights out of it compared to how my mom is with her cars and it has WAYYY less problems. I take care of it, maintain it and then use it how it should be used and keeps on ticking. I feel GM is just not what it used to be. My dad is going to look at a new car soon. He has had 2 volvo's with no issues and is looking at a 3rd but doesnt want to count out GM in his search. I told him I think its best he leaves GM out of the equation. He tried to support an american company since 2001 and basically took a **** on him. Our family has had 5 GM vehicles within 12 years and each one gets worse. Supporting customers should get better not worse as time passes.

Jeep is now made by Fiat and I think they will disappoint the typical wrangler owner but will bring in a new type of wrangler owner. I see many families using them now which could never be done but they had issues with the 3.6 at first.

I like 4speedfunks approach, hes mentioned before. Buy an old suburban and spent 15-30k in it making it modern, badass and custom vs. spending 60k on a new plastic POS.

GM has been pretty disappointing about 2009. The new Corvette is the only thing I would even consider buying from GM and at that I would have to wait for the ZR-1 Convertible.

Jeep's are overrated, overpriced, and once lifted and setup properly they have no HP or MPG. The back seat in a JKU is not comfortable at all, in fact a sheet of plywood would probably feel better up against your spine. The tub is now paper thin, and dents extremely easy. The interior's are now so full of electronic's I'd probably never run it topless in fear of a downpour shorting everything out. Leather seats don't belong in a Wrangler and they shouldn't even be an option. They'll all be cracked and faded in no time.

New vehicles don't excite me anymore. The Corvette does, but thats it.

My '14 JK is lifted on 35's with 410 gearing. No issues with power going up I70 into the mountains at 75mph (when traffic allows). I'm getting 15.7mpg avg with 35's. My H3 Alpha got around 12/ 13 with 35's and power felt very comparable. Leather cleans up easy... just as it did in the H3. Why shouldn't it be an option?

I can only assume your post is not from direct experience with a 2012 or newer JK with proper gearing. The previous years were very underpowered.

I do agree with getting the interior wet and the electronics at risk. The locker switches have the same issues with dust and moisture that the H3 had.

Long travel kits, solid axle kits, and new geometry perfected designs will be on the way!! There is NO info set in stone yet. ...at least that is public. I can see Jeep conforming to what 99% of the public will appreciate in an on-road ride. IFS will happen at some point!

I couldn't agree more! As much as GM and their customer service pi$$ed me off back in 08, I'd more than likely have that DMax H2 or another H3A...or both.

Ive been in the new Vette and it is quite a bit nicer inside and out than the last gen. That ZR1 will be one pricey ride. ...putting it closer in price to other cars that may outperform it.

We can only home AM General gets things back on track.

Corvette is nice. We have a Z28 on the showroom floor. ****er is nice and set up for track. Last place I was at a month ago didn't even know if and when we were getting one.

In a Jeep you sometimes do sometimes don't. The newer 3.6L is a much better option I agree vs the 3.8L. It's no V8 however and can only tow 3500lb vs an Alpha's 6000lb. Did you have your Jeep's PCM updated when you went with larger tires?

A year later, both of us got 35s (same tires), exhaust and intake, We raced again (this time offroad), I was upfront slightly up until 60 mph when he took over afterwards.
Now he regeared, he raced a 6 speed manual '12 JK with stock tires and had 2 car lengths over him up to 80 mph (remember hes running 35s and has 5 speed manual).
The JK is pretty strong, and regearing makes it even better!

I use the AEV ProCal. Adjusts/ calibrates for tire size, shifts points, etc. Also playing around with Superchips new Trail Dash and AFE exhaust .

Gearing does make a difference The Supecharger, makes it a beast!!! lol

Years ago on this very forum I remember being so utterly ticked with GM over the closing of Hummer that I pledges never to buy another GM vehicle ever again. In the years that past I have gotten over it, but stayed pretty true to my word. That was until the new corvette came out and I really liked it. In fact I liked it so much I bought 2 of them . Other than that there isn't anything else that GM makes that I would be interested in. When I wanted a sedan I bought a BMW. When I wanted an SUV I went with the grand Cherokee. If I ever want to drive a pickup again, it won't be a Chevy.

So far so good with the 2 vettes. No recalls and only one minor issue with one of them, the other has had no issues at all.

I am not excited about the next gen Wrangler, but I am interested. I am not brand loyal, I buy what I like, and I have owned more Jeeps than any other brand (unless you combine Chevy, Pontiac, and Hummer as "GM" then GM wins). Of all the rumors I've heard, they all sound great to me with one exception, going from body on frame to unibody. I know, unibody can be lighter, stiffer, and stronger but I have this old school mentality that says if you wheel a unibody enough it will develop squeeks and rattles much worse than a body on frame. It's not fair for me to compare my old lifted high mileage Cherokee to a new Wrangler that hasn't even come out yet, but wheeling a topless unibody just sounds like an invitation for squeaks and rattles.

BTW, the concept vehicle on page 1 is a Hurricane, not a Wrangler concept. Some crazy 2-seater with 4 wheel steering.

At this point I'd say there is less than 1% chance I'd buy a new gen Wrangler when they come out, but I could see myself picking up a used one once my kids are out of school.
