3.7 auto getting harder and harder to shift

My wife has the same set-up in her truck and it shifts like a Cadillac. click click, smooth. Mine shifts like an Evinrude outboard from the early '70s. Also, it's been making a little ticking noise that it seems like I can feel. Seems to be coming from the tranny area but i cant really be sure. I'm planning to pull the shift cover off again and see if i can see anything that looks like it's jamming up.

1970s Evinrudes had gears? LOL, I know what you mean. Did you find anything out? How's the fluid?

It's been a rain-event here the last couple of days so I've been feet-up, dog, fireplace. But I am curious to get back in there and see whats so stiff. The difference between mine and hers is huge. In the meantime I'm gonna see about a mortgage so I can get an OEM axle, from my neighbours - the Chevy dealer.
