Typical pizza delivery time. Also amount of time for my new windshield to get its first dime sized chip. Argh.

I feel you on the chip Alex. Drove around with my last windshield with a six inch crack for a year. Ran John Bull and it went to the roof. Replaced the windshield and the next day got a rock chip. Although pizza delivery is pretty damn quick where I live, and its actually good. Lol

It's so damn random when that kinda of thing happens..... I do think our trucks are more prone to chips because of now near vertical the glass is

I have one rock chip on the driver's side windshield from a gravel truck on the 22 frwy. on the way to work, not off-road.
Then one bullet hole ( okay BB I think ) on the left side, also on the 55 frwy. not in Iraq. Just leaving them alone, I'll just say there battle scars.
 :D

We had just put a new windshield in our van when we moved to Utah and got it's first rock chip, followed by a massive crack due to a hard freeze two days later. Had no choice but to replace it to the tune of $220. The insurance company in Florida paid for the first windshield replacement prior to moving as it's law here for them to cover with no deductible. We had to shell out for another windshield in Utah less than two months later!
Shortly after, we got the 3 and it took multiple rock chips on those crappy roads---the insurance company will cover rock chip repairs, but not glass replacement.
Then we were having the 2 delivered and the driver took a rock chip on the trip into town---they covered that chip repair. We took several more chips prior to moving out of Utah and finally ended up with a huge crack in the glass. Waited 'til we moved back to Florida again, then let the insurance company pay for the replacement.
For some reason Utah sucked (among other things) for getting rocks in the glass and paint.

My first H2 seemed to be a rock magnet. Never had a chip on the trail but caught several rocks from gravel trucks while on the highways of SoCal. Waited until the third chip to replace the first windshield. The 3rd one was halfway up the windshield right in front of the steering wheel. Thought I would be cross-eyed if I didn't get that one fixed quickly. Drove me nuts. Seemed every rock that hit that trucks windshields left a big chip. I have replaced several H1 windshields due to chips and pitting. Did both on the 98 and just a few days later a van threw a rock up and chipped my new $550.00 windshield. You can't win.

Mines pitted as its the original one back from 05, I am nervous to change it due to leaks. You guys are rock magnets I guess!
