Well I got the swap done, a buddy came and helped me out. For record, you can't move anywhere without the front drive shaft in place... No where.

I'll have to pull it and replace the CV once I get the part. All my other boots in the front end look good at least.

It works great now in all gears. I also bypassed the stock radiator and installed an external cooler. I also drained and replaced my dexcool, and my transfer case atf as well. It's been a long day.

Now I gotta adjust my gear shift indicator cause it's off just a hair.

For record, you can't move anywhere without the front drive shaft in place... No where.

For future reference, you can drive the truck w/o the front drive shaft in place. The truck needs to be in 4 High Locked. Once you get it in that transfer case setting you can drive it with just the rear wheels.

Glad you got it swapped! That does sound like a long Sunday.

There's a trick to it (haven't done it myself). Might be that you have to do it engine off, ignition on, I can't recall. Others that have had to do it to get home from the trail can offer the correct method.

I loosened the bolts in the sensor thus morning and corrected the angle so now my gear indicator is reading right.
